thanks again for all your information and knowledge! really helpful.
No problem. I was a complete novice re ebiking until I came here late last year.

It down to people in this forum that helped me get to a point where I could convert my Brompton myself :p

Danni,

I picked up a couple of these packs:

6S1P 16.5V2300mah A123 NEW Battery Pack for Models-2 on eBay (end time 23-Jul-10 10:40:17 BST)

They are basically the same as Jerry's home made packs but ready made. You would need to connect two of these in series to make up the required battery voltage which would involve sorting out connectors and doing a bit of soldering. Not quite as full on as building the complete packs though. They are good value at £40 each including postage (total £80 for the two packs). I was lucky and wasn't charged tax when they arrived but even with that it would only add another £20.

I contacted EWC a while ago and they were prepared to sell the kit without the battery. I think I got a quote of approx £430. I decided to go for the full DIY experience and ordered motors from China. Might have been a bit of a mistake as the company I've ordered them from have gone very quiet...

In hindsight I probably should have gone for the EWC kit - and if I never receive the motors might still do that.

Good luck!

Danni,

Well at least maybe it has enabled you to focus in on one kit initially. Let us know how the chat with EWC goes and feel free to come back if you have any more questions :)

Possibly so Jerry, however the battery does look to be different. Wonder why CH White & Son is not referred to more in this forum. Have to say that my dealings with have been very positive. I've had 3 e-bikes and the Dahon conversion has been the best by far for me (after some initial misgivings about it being throttle only).

maybe this is why

Im look at the nano kit myself for this bike I bought off ebay for £150.00

According to ECW they can fit their nano brompton kit on the above .

But what Im worried about is the cost of the battery i.e. because I will defintely need the larger size for assistance given my issues , and yet for some reason they wont tell me :(

I was planning to see if I could attach some crusier bars ( because they really seem to make a massive difference to me for some reason ) and also , possibly , a recumbent style seat like they have on those some of those crank forwards I posted here .

Well, thats the idea , Im bit worried though this bike wont work so well with the kit , as I know very little about it.

The DIY route interests me a lot but I have 0 experince soldering much less with whatever else is needed to make it work , I would really need the idiots guide - me thinks - to achieve something like that.
