That was virtually certain to be a TGA-Electrobike Garry, made in Essex and one of the first at the end of the '70s. They continued in production until only three years ago, but never sold in large numbers.
Yep that looks very similar to what I remember but think my dads was a light blue.

One of my bikes is an 11 year old powabyke euro which is still going strong, I also have an Alien Aurora which I love but they both serve different purposes for me, would never sell either of them.
