mmm.... German, expensive, carbon fibre and leather. Could be just perfect for Ed.

this one is a bit funkier though (from the manufacturer's website). Sadly no dealers in the UK.

Corratec
Looks as if it might be a similar concentric power unit to that of the old Flyer F, but no meaningful details given.

oddly its available here from chain reaction!

Corratec E-Bow 2012 | Buy Online | ChainReactionCycles.com

no motor in hubs so I quess its some sort of crankdrive:confused:

this link mentions the "Bottom Bracket Clean Mobile Engine Unit" as it is also fitted to KTM Egnition...you have to scroll down

bottom bracket motor | Doped Bike

"The KTM eGnition integrates 1000 watts of electric assist into a freeride mountainbike platform. The motor of the Clean Mobile electric drive wraps around the bottom bracket and adds power to each pedal stroke of the rider for up to 110 ft lbs of torque."

The Ego kit in n same link with chap doing wheelies in the snow! is another bolt on crankdrive kit with battery in the bag...now this is interesting

"Ego Kit is a bolt on bottom bracket motor solution that converts a regular bicycle into an ebike. An anodized aluminum structure with an electric motor attaches to the bottom bracket of the bicycle and rubber clamps hold it to the base of down tubes up to 6.5 cm. The bottom bracket and chainrings of the bike are replaced with ones supplied by Ego Kit. The motor drive is connected to the largest chainring which freewheels to allow the rider to stop pedaling while the motor is active.

Ego-Kit battery connection

The mid-motor assembly described above adds 9.7 lbs to the weight of the bike. The 48 Volt, 12 Ah LiFePO4 battery pack goes in a backpack and the power cord is attached under the nose of the bikes seat. The backpack setup keeps the weight off the bike to maintain the handling the manufacturer intended. Unfortunately you have to lug 12 lbs on your back. Fine by me."

for those with very deep pockets lots of options.....

That sounds even more like the Flyer F motor Eddie, powerful and it certainly seems the same shape:

Corratec powered by Clean Mobile

The new Corratec E-bow is powered by 1500W unit made by Clean Mobile, a German manufacturer from Munich. Very impressive and smart team of engineers have a great funding back up from German investors who are keen on these fast toys.

Won't say how much I was quoted for the drive system by W.Gruber but defo had to pull out from a deal. Anyway nice memories from a trip to Munich

all the best

Thanks for the info Andrew, way beyond the Flyer F unit capability and makes pedals somewhat redundant.
