In a very good way.
Work fell through again today so rather than waste the day I popped out and put in an unintended 33miles of mainly off road riding. As usual things were very wet and muddy, but the ride looks as though it could have potentially created a couple more e-bike users.
I was stopped by one really nice guy who wanted to buy an e-bike for one of his employees to get to work on, the journey distance being 5 miles each way, but with several steep hills. It was an odd one, as he said that he had literally been discussing it with his wife, walked out of the café, and there I was. He certainly took plenty of photos. He didn't want to be spending more than 1k, so I recommended that he contact Hattie. Hopefully I did a very good sales pitch for you Hattie.
Then further along the ride, I just happened to bump into an exceedingly well known person from within the world of International motorcycle racing. I say bumped into, it was more a case of me seeing him pop into the driveway to his house and I turned around for a chat. It's not as bad as it sounds, as I used to pop in quite often for a chat and a cuppa, but haven't been over in his direction for a year or so. The upshot of it was that he was blown away by the KTM, and reckoned that it was by far the best looking e-bike that he had seen. He was all over it like a rash, and it now looks as though a KTM dealer could be winning a sale as well.
I'm popping back across when my next bike arrives, and he can have a play on both to see which suits him the best. He hadn't realised that KTM made cycles, and kept bringing it into the conversation. I did tell him that you can't own an e-bike unless there was some form of motorcycle heritage to it.
Given his connection to the race bike World, It'll be interesting to see how that one plays out, and whether others will follow.
I also stopped off mid way round for some of the best cheesy chips that I have ever had. Not the best of cycling fodder though, but who cares.
Then I chanced my arm to cut across mod land, and for once I made it without having to turn around and scarper!
Now it's time to have a wash and scrub up, before going out to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. All in all, a good day, even if I didn't earn any money.
Usual mud!
