Does this have to be put on left side or will it work on right side as well

On my left side crank there isn't a lot of space but thought it would look neater and hidden on the gear side as could cable tie it on

would it work or does it have to go around one way only?

Any ideas

Depends on which PAS was supplied, can you post a pic.
BTW, the standard sensor delivered with my last Oxydrive CST kit was a non drive (left) side mount only so I upgraded to a hollowtech2 PAS which is mounted on the drive side where the magnet ring clips onto the inner drive ring.

I haven't got the kit yet but planning it, where would I get one for right side from.

isn't it possible to reverse magnet ring or reverse polarity on sensor?

thanks

I was in the same position as you regards left side space,i tried mounting on the right but did,nt work. I tried both sides of the sensor and in each case nothing,it worked when I backpeddled which seemed to confirm it was left side only.
I eventually ground a 1/16th of the left crank to get enough space, works fine now.

Talk to Andrew at Oxydrive, he's very knowledgeable and could offer you a PAS most suited to your particular build.
