Not a U turn. The Japanese target mature markets while the Chinese target novel solutions. Japanese automakers are more concerned with reliability and safety than Chinese. They have been waiting for solid state batteries to become mainstream which should be next year or 2027. Toyota has already got EVs that can do 1,800 miles on one charge and 5 minutes to recharge. That's farther than my petrol car can go and less time for me waiting at the till to pay for petrol.

Have you visited China or Hong-Kong? If you haven't, I highly recommend those places.
Mao took over a backward country (in his own words), industrialised it, Deng reformed it and now Xi turning it into the next first world empire.
Professor Richard Wolf wrote a thesis on its strategies. You can look it up, much more interesting that that silly video.

Solar is EU’s biggest power source for the first time ever in June 2025
Also caused biggest power cut in Europe, ha!
Good graphics - it wasn't the weather, it was solar tech failure with No backup!

Extreme weather is the UK's new normal, says Met Office
The UK is breaking heat and rainfall records increasingly frequently as its climate continues to warm, the Met Office has warned.
More of Same Klimate Hysteria, yawn emoji, hehe :)

Looking back..
The Indiana Bell bldg was moved in 1930, in 1 month, maintaining services, while 600 people still worked in it!

Wheels, or rails, move more smoothly

Whole (most) of Chicago city was raised 1 storey in 1850's-60's, took 20yrs. Others just rolled along road, shops still trading..

I don't know what you saw in the short video that you shared. The video itseft wasn't controversial but barely if at all contained anything useful. When the grid had enough supply to meet demand, it changed the feed-in tariff to negative. Producers would be charged if they don't disconnect. So they did. If all of them disconnect all at the same time, guess what, you would see what you did see. The fault is in my view a mistake in pricing and managing the feed-in tariff.

"Water, water everywhere, and not a drop to drink"
Coleridge
Wasn't it the new WEF leader who said "water isn't a human right"?
What a pity, doesn't it rain in England, Scotland, Ireland or Wales?
'Water Aid' says they can supply an village with water for £8/month! Bring em over here :p

They want you to be frugal in your use of fuel, but they're happy to burn hundreds of tons just for a jolly. How does that work? Can you explain?

It's the quatorze juillet fête nationale, aka Bastille Day, holiday in France today.
