Hi - have seen threads in this forum come up in searches but never registered before today. Great resource, and much appreciated by me when choosing what to buy.. I recently bought two new electric bikes, a Kudos cycles K16 and a Cyclotricity Revolver Hybrid. Impressed with both. The Kudos is very easy to carry.. to add useful energy with the pedals you have to maintain quite a high cadence, which although maybe less efficient in terms of joules transferred into forward motion than a high gear is easy to adapt to, I like the no gears simplicity-also love the carry handle under the seat to pick it up while fully unflolded. The Revolver Hybrid is comfortable to ride even without the battery, and I have done miles at a time- saddles fine..its a good road bike. Its a bit annoying that the electric assist cuts out without loads of pedal input, would be nice to have some extra speed but still with the assist because its a good fast bike when pedalled fast.
The problem with the K16 battery is that it only charges (red led) for about 40mins, then it either alternates red/green for a while and then green- or straight to green.. When I first put the battery container on after assembling the bike it showed 3/5 battery indicator lights, then a mile or two later 1/5, charged for 40 mins, went green but I left it on for 5 hours in case this charger behaviour was different to ones I've previously experienced.. when back on the bike it showed 4/5 for a brief minute, then 3/5 and after 2 miles or so flashing single led. I tried charging again, this time leaving overnight--same behaviour and again its showing 3/5 leds now after just tens of metres of riding with pedal assist.
