Progress Made in Seeing e-bikes

In all my years of cycling in my area, including over six years on e-bikes, I've never seen one being ridden, though two years ago I saw one locked to a bike stand.

Today I saw a very elderly man in an obviously new helmet and reflective bike jacket pushing a brand new Powabyke Shopper along the pavement away from Sainsburys bike stand, probably nervous of riding it at that traffic clogged junction.

So I'm making progress, one day I may actually see an e-bike ridden in anger around here.

Note to Frank Curran: That Powabyke probably came from nearby CycleKing in Brighton Road, South Croydon. Could be a replacement for stock order available there. :)

In the last couple of months, I've spotted three Agattus and one Proconnect with owner (cycling past my house.)

I like to think I am contributing to something of a quiet (ho) transport revolution here in Bath ( along with Frank and Co of Powabyke, of course)... though car and articulated lorry are still kings of the road in and around the city, unfortunately:(

I see a lot of them these days. I was standing outside a pub off Kensington High Street with an old schoolfriend and his dad, and he asked what I do at the moment someone on a Pro Connect rode by, who in turn was looking at my Pro Connect locked up at the side of the road.

Often see electric bikes in Richmond Park, even spotted a GoCycle last week. And an A2B going over Kew Bridge. Yes, it's thick with them, all shapes and sizes in west and south west London. And I see quite a few Agattus and Torqs up in Loughborough as well.

More than I've ever seen out on the road in Germany and the Netherlands, strangely.
