Question about Bosch bikes.

Please can anybody who owns a bosch driven bike explain to me how it feels if you don't use the battery power, can you ride it as a normal bike, if so does it feel the same as an unpowered bike, no drag or noise etc?

I think you need a demo...No noise either way, but I never ride an e bike without power so cant really help with that aspect.

What's the point of having an expensive e-bike and voluntarily not using the power?

Sorry ... just crossed with previous post! Your query now better understood ... but I wouldn't choose a bike based on what it would be like to ride on the (hopefully) rare occasion when you run out of juice ...

Judging by the similar Panasonic crank drive motor unit, riding without power should be very easy with the extra e-bike weight only affecting things when climbing. When I had a Giant Lafree with the Panasonic unit I never switched on until I reached the first hill, bowling along just like a normal bike on the flat at 15 to 19 mph.

Most hub motor bikes just don't compare in this respect.

Just tried it without power an its fine.....can't imagine there being any drag anyway as its a centre drive system so no motor in wheels.

You really must just go and try one!
