The Yose kits have a 12mm axle with 10mm flats milled on them. That will fit in a standard bike frame with normal Q/R rear wheel. Very occasionally, you have to file off a bit of paint to get the axle in. The biggest problem is that sometimes they don't go in deep enough, so you have to file the drop-out deeper, which also helps re-centralise the disc if you have a disc brake. Another solution if it's not too bad is to use a torque arm, but only do that if the whole of the axle is in the drop-out, and it's just the torque washer which won't go in.I have a decathlon aluminium frame bike which I want to convert using a yose power rear hub kit which requires a 10mm axle dropout on the frame.
What shall I do? Is filing safe? I also cannot find any alternate donor bikes with 10mm dropouts..
Decathlon bike dropouts are designed for 9mm axles. That’s why it’s not fitting (I have the kit and I tried). Maybe I didn’t test properly (as I’m new to this)..What do you think is special about your frame why 10mm won't fit?
