I needed to buy a new battery carrier for my Elife La Grande electric bike. I tried all over the place to find a new carrier which would house the controller but was unsuccessful, the only way to get one was to buy a new battery where the carrier was included.
I ordered one from Ali Express which was distributed from Germany.
When it arrived the battery was fine but the carrier was not suitable as it didnt have space for the controller.
I contacted the seller who immediately offered a full refund.
subject to the item being returned to Germany. I realise I will have to pay postage but everywhere I look at different carriers it all seems very difficult to post the battery. Do I have to include a customs declaration etc,,I am very nervous about the whole thing, any help you can offer would be gratefully received.. Many thanks Russell

If the post etc is at your expense, then perhaps sell the battery in the UK instead. Any loss you make might be comparable to the postage cost, and headache removed.

It will need a customs declaration, but that isn't the problem.

Large lithium batteries are a known fire risk, so cannot be flown without special precautions. Many carriers operate internationally so check with the supplier who they used to send it to you. They should be able to take it back there for you.

A business will have a contract or regular courier they are on terms with and the issue of transporting battery's doesn't seem to be an issue, it is as a private individual they don't like dealing with even on returns. It's a one side deal where the businesses are there bread and butter.
Probably why Jimmy at ebikebatteries has the pickup and return tied up which his services as otherwise he wouldn't have the work regularly coming in.
