Seagull's the name!

Spotted today on ebay:

This gent's model of a full-sus ebike, apparently known as a Seagull, has, amongst other attractions, an adjustable rear wheel! In a separate ad, there is the lady's version which looks pretty much the same thing in the pic with the exception of smaller wheels.

There's no obvious reserve price set and bidding starts at next to nothing. The seller has a 100% feedback rating so if you like the slightly quirky style of these machines, you could be the proud owner and have enough change back from a tenner to buy an ice cream.

ps Cancel that; the bidding has shot up to over ten quid!

A quirky design, specs looks good, but a bit ugly looking and could have a better paint job, could lose yourself on the white lines.

But isn't it the case that these sorts of things are preventing e-biking becoming more popular?
With all respect to the advertiser, the paucity of details in his advert, the absence of any suggestion that he is a bike dealer, no mention of repairs, spare parts etc.
It is so easy to nip over to China, collect a container of bikes and flog them on ebay.
Naturally, I am not imputing anything against this particular seller, but many buyers have purchased underpowered, old, defective cycles and been bitterly disappointed. The result is that they spread the word that e-bikes are useless.

everyone has to start somewhere, dont get me wrong, I dont think these are in anyway going to catch on and become established, UK & European tastes very conventional....... But some of our best known makes started this way with the odd container. I wish anyone luck who can identify a decent bike with a consistent supply and make their mark..more choice the better (not including this kind of thing though!lol)

My wife keeps trying to get me to do it.....Problem being most chinese bikes are simply a crock of ****e  :p

Eddie, it is one of those occasions that I agree with everything you say.
It might be worth mentioning to your lady wife that it will not make you a multi millionaire overnight:(

Jasper, but surely if you base your price perception on cheap Chinese bikes it is a fallacy...

Proper cycling has never been cheap, electric cycling even more expensive. You want cheap transport buy a moped. This E bike lark is a lifestyle choice and not a cheap interest.

My bikes will be far to cool for your tastes.......There will be no throttle far a start:eek:

27 deg and another beautiful day, high winds last few days and it can be unpleasant cycling then.... only 2 weeks left, not looking forward to my return. I can see the novelty wearing of if stuck in an apartment, but on a campsite I could stay for months, and will do if health OK next winter.....

You're missing some horribly wet weather in our area Eddie, hopefully it will be over in two weeks, in time for your return. You certainly chose your absence at the right time.
