Should I change my teeth? Designer Daimler Mercedes Benz Smart eBike

I am due for a service soon on my Designer Daimler Mercedes Benz Smart eBike, I spoke with the Mercedes Smart technician who services them, I explained how I would like to go a little faster on the flat and he told me that my bike came as standard with a 22 tooth belt pulley, he said that Mercedes Smart eBikes can be upgraded to a 20 tooth belt pulley for more speed, or a 24 tooth belt pulley to help getting up hills, I have no problems with hills due to my muscular legs but am looking at dropping down to 20 teeth to get more speed, after the motor cuts out at 15mph it would help me drive forward. The cost of the belt pulley is around £68 plus about half an hours Mercedes technician time to fit, so possibly £120 or so here in London, so looking at having it all done at the time of the annual service.

 

So should I go for this upgrade? From what I have read I am sure there are some forum members here who know about teeth and the effect that losing some can have. I would like to know if there is a ratio of what I could expect to gain for the money in order to manage expectations.

Dropping of a friend at the local Merc place,they had a delivery of mohair polishing cloths for these bikes. Nice thing champagne mohair triangle with a leather back ,gold embossed logo ,folds into a pack with a gold plated zip, neat little plate for your initials. Friend tried to blag one but no bike no cloth. Make sure you get yours as some had been nicked by sales guys already.

God and delusion, that fits in nicely with the thread.

if you want to go faster buy a decent bike in the first place its not worth spending anything on it tbh.

 

if you sell it you will take a massive loss on what you paid for it my bike had 160 miles on it and was 2 grand cheaper than the rrp new.

Just a label with I think Roberto Caval or Cavalli and Made in Italy.

Yes, in fact she is titled, her official name is Lady Buoy, I don't know what that entitles me to be called, but when I mentioned it to some friends they seemed a bit rude and said it was just a load of b*llocks and I would just find it a pain in the @rse :-(

I haven't totally ruled it out but there are a couple of new ones the Mercedes dealer has in stock and has offered to sell at cost, so still working out the pros and cons of new v one with dirty pedals :-)

Yes it will fit you no problem at all, they come in one size.

 

Re transport to Aus, you will have a problem due to the battery, the only way would be by land (out of the question really) and sea I believe. It would need to be crated up and advice sought re the battery packing. I bought a huge piece of art from Indonesia and had it shipped to the UK, it took about 3 months but got here eventually, so if ether is no rush I am sure it would work, any international shipper could get you a quote.
