I have a 24yr old classic Orange X1 full suspension URT bike, that I love, but my age (61) and health (currently on chemo) means that if I'm going to get my fitness back I'm going to need help, as I live in the hilly Oxfordshire Cotswolds.
Fitting the motor looks all ok, but the standard Bafang batteries are 37cm long, and I don't have any straight downtube longer that about 25cm, as the downtube is cranked and there is the rear shock in the triangle. I do have a seat post rack, but it is only about 30cm long and I'm not sure how well it would cope with the weight and I don't really want the weight that high.
So, I need a smaller battery that is compatible with the Bafang kit. In the USA Luna Cycles do something called the Wolf Pup, which looks ideal, has (just) about enough capacity for my longest likely journey, but even in the USA is doesn't seem to be actually available. It's also 52v so it would mean I'd need to use an illegally powerful motor. Are there any UK available small batteries compatible with the Bafang system?

A bit of wandering around the Amazon found this, which would physically fit if I made some form of bottle boss mount for it. Anyone have any experience of these? Price looks right, but it doesn't explicitly say it contains a BMS - would anyone ship something like that without BMS?

Just spotted Whoosh do the "Small Frog" battery - I think this might do it... anyone tried one?

It has a BMS if you look at the specs lower at internal battery protection.

I was trying to interpret that as BMS, but they hadn't used the 'BMS' word, so was a bit 'suspciuous'

Quite right I prefer it when vendors use plain speak as to say.
