It was great to sell our a pre-owned Wisper electric bike to a local vicar just before Easter. Looking forward to spotting him on the electric bike. Would be great to see some more public figures supporting electric bikes to raise their profile. There have been some instances of this but I am sure if you saw a well known sportsmen riding one it might help change attitudes to electric bikes and creeate a wider audience.

Maybe not Lance Armstrong though? ;)

Seriously, not sure how much this helps though. Formula 1 drivers and staff have for years used all sorts of light two-wheeled EVs around the paddock and course areas, and this has include e-bikes during at least one season when all the Toyota F1 team staff and drivers used them around the paddocks and circuit areas. It made so little impact that even I can't remember what make e-bikes they were using! I think it was Panasonic, but can't be absolutely certain.

Even F1 broadcasters and drivers have been seen by millions on international TV riding two-wheeled EVs around the tracks to explain each circuit's features, but once again I couldn't tell you what any of them were.

I think e-bikes used by known community figures like your vicar plus local doctors and teachers will be far more effective in spreading the message.

You are right one of our models has been used for this. I think that not many people are aware of this. I suppose you could joke Lance Armstrong on electric bike is taking cheating to new levels but we want to get away from the image of electric bikes as cheating. I think if you had some high profile coverage of celebs and sports stars on bikes their image would change.

Formula One for E-bikes run by traders or development teams working under proposed regulation but not including top speed restrictions on tracks that could test speed, climbing ability, and range with maybe one pit-stop for battery change and two bike max per team. could be a good way of promoting electric bikes and further developing the technology.

When you have all that beef to conserve, you can't afford to be wasting calories ! It's the same if you're trying to gain lean mass (and don't have a load of fat to shed) - regular cycling is a huge no-no but e-biking is a good compromise. Should be marketing them down the gyms to the local bodybuilders - they'll see the benefits for sure lol.
