I've noticed that there is a tiny bit of play in all the spokes of both wheels of my 26" 1.75's. Only 1mm deflection at most.
Is this normal?
Also how do i go about checking and tightning spoke tension?
I should imagine every one needs to be tightened in one session or it'll pull the rim out of true.

Ok I will give this one a go even though I am no expert :p

Tightening up one or two loose spokes will not take your wheel out of shape, providing you don't do them up too tight.

You can ping the other spokes and listen to the sound they make to give you a reference. If they all sound simlar (a little play in the spokes is normal) then the wheel is probably fine.

Also if its still fitted in the frame spin it and use your brake black as a reference to check if it is in true i.e. the rim does not mover towards and aways from the brake blocks as you spin it.

Just make sure you turn the spoke spanner the right way for tightening.

Also check out Sheldon's (RIP) site, a great reference for all things bike.
