Now I need some help/advice in explaining how to wire my batteries up in series - a 48 volt Cyclamatic sounds a bit scary though!
Just hold fire for a bit. It'll be ok for me to do because I've got loads of spares for when it smokes. We'll see how Fordulike gets on with his Beastamatic. I'lm going to push up the power of mine in stages and I'll let you know exactly what you can do without damaging anything (instantly). Some components in the controller might need changing before It'll run at 48v, but we'll see. Just be patient. It might still be possible just to connect another battery and fly, but it would be better to let someone else check it out before you ruin your bike.

Wise words. Thanks for the advice - I don't intend to do anything I am not 100% confident in (and in this area of batteries and leccy I am a complete dunce).

LSDZS website says the micro controller (basically same one in Beastamatic) will run 24,36 and 48v.
On the couple of miles that I've tested so far on throttle only, the motor only got mildly warm to the touch.
Remember mines running 36v, not 48v.
That bloke on Youtube seems to go for flaming miles without a breakdown, so I reckon 48v is feasible.
Not sure of the longevity of a 48v set-up though

It does look too good to miss, so I just ordered one of these (the yearend voucher is still good so far) and with Quidco 8% it was indeed just 369. Good delivery options too, next day is extra £3, morning or or afternoon choice extra £1, evening option £1.
I'll report back when its up and running.

Well, one extra win right away. Quidco is tracking £40 cashback (8% of the price before the voucher discount) so the price is now down to £360
Plus 5% f your next order, so if you order another one, it'll only be £340
