Hi Folks, can you recommend a good Steel 8 speed cassette, to replace a Sunrace one and also the tools to do this. My BBSHD has eaten the Sunrace one, resulting in a lot of chain skipping,

Cheers,

G

Cassette or freewheel? I have 8 speed DNP freewheels if you need one. £23 including postage.

Hi Dave, it's the cassette I need to change, this one is not enjoying the BBSHD experience as much as me.

Yes, but the thing you call a cassette, is it a screw on one (freewheel) or a slide on a spline one (freehub - also called cassette)? Sunrace can be either.

I only use hub-motors, so the cheapest cassettes and free-wheels last me forever. I'm, therefore, not the best person to answer that.

You had a good one. The Sunrace 11-40 8 speed steel cassette is as good as they get. Buy two or three and change the cassette and chain when your BBSHD is done with them is my only advice. Look at Tour de France riders, they get a new chain and cassette on each stage, with the BBSHD you are now as strong as they are! :)

Shimano HG 41,11-34T less than a tenner from Halfords.
I use them on my Cannondale BBSHD
