Team Hybrid, e-bike motor suppliers, have made this sort of attachment for years. I think it's either the proprietor or someone in their company who uses one, since I saw it both in use and detached at an e-bike show back in 2007.

Unfortunately not, it hasn't got pedals so not a legal e-trike, and can't be registered as a motor vehicle. The law needs amending so that the hand drive wheelchair rims are considered equal to pedals, so making them potentially e-trikes.

It could be considered a mobility vehicle if restricted to 4 mph on pavements and 8 mph on the road.

A very good rider of an offroad hand pedalled trike was involved in the design and build of the single track at the new Lanhydrock bike hub.

His gopro video of a trial run of the Timber Trail, I think, is inspirational.

Here are some photos of a Varna hand pedal trike that we converted earlier this year.
It is basically PAS but with a thumb throttle which assits to 6 Km/h
The loose of wiring on the rear rack is part of the customers lighting and indicator setup which was a work in progress.
