Tough break. Maybe try older builds of the configurator suite of programs?

There's a bit more info using a DOS box:

... of course that's just the software side working without the tool connected, because I don't have the tool, because I don't want and will never buy a TSDZ2.

I've tried both Linux and Windows 10 on 2 different PCs desktop and laptop.
When you plugin the stlink to Linux, are you seeing any logs in dmesg ?

On my Linux system, it shows,
~$ dmesg
[40870.725395] usb 1-2.4: USB disconnect, device number 14
[40872.886234] usb 1-2.4: new full-speed USB device number 15 using xhci_hcd
[40872.991718] usb 1-2.4: New USB device found, idVendor=0483, idProduct=3748, bcdDevice= 1.00
[40872.991727] usb 1-2.4: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
[40872.991731] usb 1-2.4: Product: STM32 STLink
[40872.991733] usb 1-2.4: Manufacturer: STMicroelectronics
[40872.991735] usb 1-2.4: SerialNumber:
26MCKN
Note that I use stlink not with TSDZ2 (I don't have it).

I don’t have the bike here atm but I get the following output when the stlink is connected on Linux. The other Stlink I have RenderedImage.jpegoutputs the same values but the serial number is just showing ‘Y’

As in #2 , did you check you have the older controller version thta shows 5v.

Also have you check your PC W10 that JAVA has 100% loaded to the main frame of the PC by using the Command Prompt ?

I had a heck of a time getting OSF to work but with St Guerney on my side , we got there in the end . My main issue was my W10 on my latest 5 year old or so laptop not allowing JAVA to download and me not having too much clue about techy stuff, then I resorted to an even older slow knackered notebook with a dead battery and smashed screen to get me going. It down loaded all programs needed without a hitch.

So the system detects stlink.

To check whether, stlink communication with the processor inside TSDZ2 is working, openocd tool can be used, but it often happens that the one in the Linux distribution will not work & latest openocd would have to be compiled from sources, also the target configuration file for the processor (not sure but think it is STM8 series) would have to be determined.

But if you want to make it work without much technical work, it would be better not to take that route and instead follow those who have experience using TSDZ2. Still if interested, I can provide pointers w.r.t openocd

Also the above will only verify stlink communication. TSDZ2 tool & java related, I am not familiar.

Oh I don't know about that! I watch Naked News the way it's presenters recommend... naked. o_O

It was you pulling that rabbit out of a hat second W10 laptop that did the trick!

Issue resolved. The STlink dongle needed a firmware update. Once updated it now connects ok and I've flashed the motor.
That's great! I would have liked to have seen whether some older version of the configurator suite of programs (post #21) would have worked with the old firmware your dongle shipped with, but because I don't have nor ever want a TSDZ2, I don't currently need an Stlink for that or anything else, and am not curious enough to buy one to find out!
