The "FWF" that Frank used to sell from Germany is a Tongxin clone (lightweight small-footprint low-drag brushless hub motor with reduction friction gears):

EDIT: the link below is now dead, as Frank doesn't sell the Tongxin/Mini-FWF roller-based motors (too many returns, apparently).

Der Umbausatz

Well, it is actually manufactured by a company called Weifeng Machinery:

Weifeng Machinery Co., Ltd. - Front forks, brushless high speed wheel motors

The advantage over the Tongxin is the disc brake support.

Cheers, Daniel

Yes Daniel I have seen that. Could be an alternative if people can't get hold of Tongxins I suppose. I think the German forums have a lot up about it and rate it highly.

Hopefully if this guy Frank is able to sort out his business in China a lot of us can benefit from having access to his stock.

Isn't it more for 24V and 20" wheels though looking at Franks site ?

Actually looking at the manufacture's site looks like there are lots of variants.

Regards

Jerry

Well, Frank doesn't sell the Tongxin/Mini-FWF roller-based motors anymore (too many returns, apparently). So the link provided in the first post is dead. This leaves the Electric Wheel Company, Freedom E-Bikes and Cytronex as the only potential suppliers of Tongxin-like motors...
