Yes, seller won't accept returns, and on occasions these can also damage their nylon gears, so a risky purchase. Don't go high.

Looks like 26" to me not 700c ? Doesn't look like the kind of tyre the Torqs I've seen have either.

Quote from seller "Torq Trekking electric bike, 250 watts, done around 215 miles." It can't be a 2008 motor though as the new Torq Trekking motor replaced the Suzhou Bafang at the end of 2007. It does look like a 700c wheel with standard fitment Kenda tyre.

The Torq Trekking that 50cycles sold from mid 2007 had the Bafang motor in a 26" wheel with the Kenda tyre, so I think it may be one of those.

I would agree that it looks like the Suzhou Bafang motor from a Torq 1. If so, a Suzhou Bafang motor will have a serial number starting SB....... engraved on the cable entry side.

Note that if it is from a Torq 1, then the forks need to be widely spaced at 125 mm.

I think that all the later Torq Trekking bikes had 100 mm forks and suspension.

If it is a Torq 1 in 28" wheel and noting also that the wheel has the standard ezee spoke lacing and apparently needs truing, then this old post of mine might be useful for building up a new wheel.

James

PS Crossed with Flecc's post.

Are we seeing a trade in scrap electric bike parts, same as with cars?
I wonder what the history is.

Nah, now I look at it, its definately off a 24.5" highly none standard wheel, no point in bidding.

*goes to bid self* :O

Actually if its 125mm betweem forks thats a bit rubbish.

Good luck Nick,

Thought about bidding myself, but don't need it.
Being of a suspicious nature, I do wonder about the origin of a used wheel and motor which has only done 215 miles i.e, is it Kosher?
The wiring looks a bit dodgy, but if the motor is OK, I'm sure you would be able to sort that out.
The delivery charge is a bit steep, maybe you could collect as it's not too far from your neck of the woods. I'm sure you though of that already;)
