Torq2/Trekking Spoke Length?

Does anyone know the total length of the spokes on a Torq Trekking? One of mine broke today on the front/motor wheel and I need to order some spares from SJS, but don't want to take the wheel off until I have got the spares.
It snapped just where the thread emerges from the nipple and the broken piece I have measures 233 mm, so I suppose I could just measure the length of the nipple and add that to give me the total length, but anyone knows precisely, that would be useful.

Im pretty sure my torq 2 front wheel had a problem with spokes breaking before i purchased it, and i beleive it was repaired by 50 cycles with no further problems occuring since,i am sure they will know the size and probably still have a few in stock.

Paul,

I very much doubt if 50c have any Ezee parts left as they had a clearout a while back, so I have emailed Cyclepoint to see if they can supply some original spares.

I removed the nipple this morning, so I now know the spoke length is 240mm x 2.2mm thick and the nipple length is 11mm according to my Vernier gauge:confused: . That is slightly unusual as standard spokes tend to be 2.0 or 2.3mm thick and nipples 12mm.

SJS list 240mm x 2.0mm/14g spokes, does 0.3mm thinner matter? I guess it probably does as thinner would be weaker:eek: Also would longer nipples give extra strength, or move the point at which a spoke is likely to fracture?

I've found it doesn't really matter for a replacement spoke John. I've used those SJS spokes on Bafang hub motor wheels without any problems. The original one could have failed through being over tensioned at some previous point or though having a weak point in it's structure. I doubt a longer nipple would help, it's more likely to worsen things minutely through reducing the free spoke length.

Thanks for the advice Tony. This morning, I managed to get some DT Swiss 2.0 mm thick spokes in the correct length from a Roy Pink, a local cycle shop and have replaced the broken one. These good quality spokes are probably stronger than the original ones. Time will tell.
