What is the best way to attach a trialer to a rear wheel powered bike.

Most fittings seem to feature a bracket on the end of the axle, with the wisper I have the motor cable on one end of the axle and the deraileur on the other; is it possible to clamp onto the frame tubes?

Some proprietary trailer attachments do clamp onto the frame side tubes, I once had a trailer like that.

On online check brings up a US site with Burley trailer couplers that include a frame clamping one, the Classic Hitch, third one down. Burley trailers are sold in the UK as well, try ExtraUK since they are Burley agents.

Silly me cable and deraileur are both on the same side, comes of looking at the bike upside down !!

Oh, I DO like the look of the Burley attachments and they're nto grossly over-priced for the quality of them. I was thinking of an up and over rear-of-the-saddle hitch point, but something available off the shelf might sway me.

I really dislike these since the high attachment point for the trailer nose weight can make a bike a bit unstable with high loads or bumpy surfaces. It's a bit like carrying weight high on a carrier.

I don't use any of the normal methods, preferring a car type rear ball joint, the nose weight no problem on e-bikes with their extra weight. Details of one of my ball joints on this link

Well, I made a tow hitch from scratch for my GS850, right where it should be :) I can duplicate that (in lighter materials) for my leccy bike.
