ThanksDave, I'll post a full frontal so to speak, she is lovely. Do you think I'll need front discs with the BBs01? If so, do you think they'll fit these forks? Also, how do I measure the bottom bracket to make sure the kit will fit?

You don't need disc brakes, but you'll probably find that your rim brakes wear quickly and need lots of adjustment because you'll be going faster. You'll need new forks to fit a disc on the front. For people that don't already have a donor bike, I'd always advise to get one with a disc on the front if possible.

Would you advise swapping the forks? I don't want to risk life and limb... I know it would seem sensible using a different bike but then I'm back to square 1 and would have a bike I love being redundant.

Your bike must be an older model as they don,t support disc break conversion, the newer versions post 2012 do.

Are the brakes ok now, plenty of power etc?
If so do the conversion and see how it feels, you are not adding a massive amount of power or weight.
