Tyre pressure

I have just fitted Road tyres to my 29er MTB. On the tyre it states.. Max pressure off road 50psi on road 85psi. This seems like a lot of air in there and am just wondering how hard they need to be especially as I was able to easily change the tyres without levers! I put 100 in my road bike but somehow that doesn't seem as much!

Probably much larger/wider than your road tires so take a lot more air volume/strokes with the pumb.

My new road bike 700c*28C MPs state 100PSI but I find them a little hard to ride on that high. I am trying them with 80PSI in them.

Generally the harder they are the more puncture proof they will be, though with MPs I think its not so important. In your case I would run them around 70-75PSI if they are not MPs a little lower if they are.

Ps Check them every every two weeks or so it amazing how quickly they lose air if you use them every day.

I find tyres go flat quicker if the bike is not ridden.
