You don't feel the step when you are in a situation that needs it. My 11-32 got some testing and is enough. More testing this week and I can either go to an 11-34 or put in a 42 tooth chainwheel.

Do you have a link for your chainwheel? Bafang and GSM compatible?

On my fs Cube with bbs01 I have 44t std front ring with a 9 sp 12 - 36 rear, and it appears to meet my requirements for off road use. Top/spins out at 24-26 mph so still has good road capabilities for travelling to and from locations, I could go down on the front ring but would end up treading air to much.

Hi Nealh. If you google Precialps you will find it . I had a look on the site & the 36 tooth is not in stock. However they do have a 42 tooth which has the same chain line as the original steel ring. It costs 69 euros (the 36 was only 39 euros) The narrow wide teeth do seem to work, I have not had a derailment yet. It's also about 70% lighter % & 1000% better looking than the original.

What about wear on the aluminum ring instead of the steel one?

I think I might go for one of their adaptors and use a Trutativ steel chainring in either 44 or 42.
