there was someone on here a little while back talking about how they had changed there handlebars to get a more upright riding position.

ive had a problem with my riding position putting too much strain on my forearms and wrists, not much room to highten bars (ahead stem) so was wondering if there are any handlebars that would help without going to extremes, still wont my bike to look modern, not that those that have change look old fashoned (digging a hole here for my self) but you know what i mean.

any suggestions please.

If it's a threadless headset you can add a stem riser as I have just done. This will raise your existing bars to a more comfortable height. You may also need to extend the front brake cable and both gear cables etc. I also used a Satori riser but it was cheaper off Amazon....

HI Yes providing you have A head Looks the same as the extender with 2 Allen keys on the side and one on top comes with longer top bolt

Maybe problem with cable lengths try It undo the 3 Allen keys then lift up 100 mm and see if they are long enough

I only use Ebay to show the Ideas is is Quick But some ebayers bye off amazon then have delivered direct to you making a Mark Up

Will they fit a Wisper 905 City SE 2010 model? (The one with the quick-release stem system).

thanks frank.
just tried that, it looks tight but there might be just about 100mm clearance

I have used the first one of those on another bike and they are just the job :)

Where its an Ahead fitting I much prefer an longer adjustable stem than the riser as it looks way too busy with both.

See below.

Yuk

Much better

It's not only height. You wouldn't believe the extra riding comfort from bars where the grip is at 45 degrees or so back from the usual straight bars.

For some reason most bars in the UK are sporting in nature rather than made for comfort.

If you take a look at the Kalkhoff Tasman or most continental bikes you'll see what I mean. If you hold your arms out in front of you your wrists naturally take that angle. Bring the grips back by raising them or curving the bars back towards you and you can ride for miles without wrist (or back) aches.

Ergonomic keyboards to prevent RSI are based on the same usage position.
