There have been others too, like the recent Zero, but being e-bike specific is a new concept.

Reading the blurb; the 250watt motor overcomes the significant transmission losses, so are you back to square one but toting a heavy battery about?

I know driveshaft on motorcycle are believed to be better than chain drives, and preferred by couriers, due to less wear, but not sure that would be the same for e-bikes, but interesting idea, and looks quite simplified in appearence.

The important thing for me is that some thought is being put into tidying up the bitsa mess that so many e-bikes are at present, being basically bikes with electrical bits draped over at various points with a spiders web of wiring connecting up the bits.

At least they can be worked on. Don't want to reach a place equivalent to the place that cars reached;
unable to be maintained without an array of computers and special tools. Oh, wait! Pretty sure that the controllers will soon need to be plugged into a comp for upgrades/resets etc

If accompanied by the amazing reliability of cars, yes, that's exactly what we do want!

And then we would have very little to moan about, but I do like the idea of a tidy fully intergrated set up, it sounds like the future to come
