Which replacement battery to buy for a custom eBike?

Hi I am considering buying a replacement battery for my eBike. However having been generally ignorant of such matters until I bought the bike from a guy on eBay who builds custom bikes, I'm not quite sure what battery I should buy? The reason I want for a custom ebike build is that it cost less than 1/3rd the price of some of the more popular commercial brands. He did a decent job, but that was almost a year ago now and after much riding, I'm considering swapping out for a larger but altogether more 'compact' frame mounted battery, like this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09 ... smid=&th=1

The only problem is I don't know what wattage my bike's motor is rated at - and since as I said, I bought it off a guy on eBay almost a year ago, the guy I bought it from has proved uncommunicative. He claimed it was 2000W (I think at 48v), but I doubt this and suspect it's probably more like 1000W - or at a stretch maybe 1500).

However the question is, providing it fits could I just buy this battery and expect it to work?

There are two versions of this battery. The above and this one:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08 ... smid=&th=1

One is 1000W and the other says it's 1800W.

So what would be the difference between them? I would suspect that the 1800W battery would simply last longer and go further? Or am I mistaken?

With much thanks.
:)
