Just took the bike out for an abortive run. the red/yellow/green lights were all on so I thought it was charged.... started peddling away and it spluttered a few times then nothing it just died (lights still on) it has been standing unused since before Christmas.

I have put it on charge hopefully all it needs....but why would all the lights be on? any ideas or suggestions please?

As I haven't had mine too long I can't claim to be an expert - but I feel fairly sure that if the yellow and green lights are on you do NOT have a battery problem, as they're telling you the battery is putting out its full voltage....

Look elsewhere, therefore. There are lots of connectors around the controller (beneath the bottom bracket) and I would have a careful look around there first - a disassemble and a squirt of WD40 before putting them back together might not go amiss. They are somewhat exposed to the elements down there.

Disconnect the battery first, of course.

Seems you are correct it is a connection......tried it again and nothing, pressed the derestrict (green button on left) and it worked!

tried it again and nothing......so will investigate:)

Almost certainly a poor connection, possibly at the battery connections to the bike. Connections can oxidise a bit in damp weather, passing enough current for LEDs etc, but unable to pass higher currents for motor drive.

It has been stored in my hall...so toasty warm lol

I hope its something simple in the handlebar area as playing with green button got it to work

if not its back to ETS I'm afraid:(

Mmm....tried it again in the hall as its raining, it works (on throttle) if I push the green derestrict button in.. Then stops working if I push it again

Haven't used it in the cold spell but don't think it used to be like this.....could ETS have got a wire crossed when they refitted my rebuilt rear wheeL I wonder? or maybe its just me lol

If its dry tomorrow I will have a proper go on it:)

Hi Eddieo

I have forwarded a link to your post to Norman, to see if he can throw any light on this.

All the best David
Thanks David but not really your problem I believe.

Went for a ride this afternoon, pedal and power comes on and throttle works...BUT if I press the green derestrict button I loose all power. but 3 indicator lights on left stay on.

So this must be from when ETS refitted the rear wheel after the rebuild? I used to think the green button did not do anything much before:confused:

I'm wondering if they've mixed up one of the brake switches with the de-restrict button.

He says the green button still works push/on push/off - so I wouldn't think there's a connection (pun not intended) with the brake switch. Also didn't he say it DID work before it had sat in his hall for a little while?

This problem has only arisen since bike back from rear wheel refit/rebuild....

I did not get what Vicki suggested as (doh!) I thought she meant at handle bars lol But Norman of wisper has contacted me saying:

" I thought Vikkis post re possibly muddling up the brake switch and the destrictor switch connectors was also a good idea to investigate as they are identical connectors and have the same colour wires"

so will drop it back to ETS when they get parts ...to save a wasted trip:rolleyes:
