  4. I now wear a bmx helmet with an old army combat helmet cover that I had at the back of the garage. Much more protection and warmer at this time of year. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. So the wind turbine charges the battery on the move? Clever! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Was struck by lightning in the Swiss Alps at 12000ft. Reckon I survived because my clothing was soaking wet, no goretex in them days! All our ironmongery was vibrating and sparks coming off the ends of the ice axes. The breakdown voltage of air is about 10000V per cm. It's not voltage that kills you it's current 100 ma is enough to put your heart into ventricular fibrillation. That's why the UK stuck with 240V and the the US with 110V. We don't use the electric chair to kill people. Check out the war between Edison and Tesla. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

https://www.lidl.co.uk/en/Non-Food-Offers.htm?articleId=4006 A useful bit of kit for extended tours with no mains supply? [emoji3] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks. My son made it. He's the arty type. Also like the imagery of the transmission lines carrying electrical energy from the wind farms to charge up my bikes battery [emoji3] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  18. Yeah noticed arcing on the battery terminals last week. So after a couple of hours of finicky soldering this morning have got it working again. However still not convinced that it is robust enough for off-road use. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. 70 quid for complete new unit! Sent from my SM-T700 using Tapatalk
  20. Really enjoying this bike. However broke the main on/off switch on the bars. Opened it up thinking that I could repair it. It is a tiny surface mount component which I was unable to solder back on. Just put some solder across the terminals so taking the battery on and off is now the switch [emoji3] Anyone foresee any problems with this? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Any technology is "cheating". Let's get back to running through the forests naked. The problem is cultural perception. In somewhere like the Netherlands cycling is utilitarian transport but in the U.K. Cycling clubs perpetuate the myth that everyone should be the next Bradley Wiggins. I now commute to work on an Oxydrive hybrid conversion and keep up with my son and his mates at weekends on an eMTB. Activities at my age,56, my father would never have contemplated. By the way we get the same snobbery with boats in this country buts that's another story [emoji10] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. Thanks for that Robbie. Sent from my SM-T700 using Tapatalk
  23. Anyone know where I can get a replacement battery for the Giant? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. Cheers Kristin. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  25. Bought a 2016 Giant e2full sus at big discount from JE James. Great fun! Can now keep up with my son and his mates, well on the uphill anyway [emoji3] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
