What a blinking good idea!
I've come across these Winglights http://www.cycl.bike/ - they are only available to pre-order though, so no reviews yet.

Will there be any ebikes at the London Bike Show?
Great news. Thank you for letting me know.

Confused about the range of a folding bike...
I'm intending to be very much of a "fair weather" cyclist! I currently drive to work but the traffic is heavy and it probably wouldn't take me that much longer to cycle it, and there is a long off-road cycle track too, which would make it more pleasant. I may invest in a spare charger to keep at work, just in case. Good to hear that I could go further on a 20 inch wheel folder, but I know that I would certainly need to build up to it, fitness wise. Size wise, I weigh 10st, so relatively light to ride an electric bike.

Will there be any ebikes at the London Bike Show?
Sadly, I didn't make it to The Bike Show. I really wanted to have a test ride too! One of the problems I find is that electric bike stockist seem to be few and far between and unlike EddiePJ, I was interested in many of the dealers at the show, but family commitments prevented me from getting up there. C'est la vie.

Confused about the range of a folding bike...
I'm (still!) looking at all the different types of electric bike. Swaying between getting a folding bike and a non-folding bike. Looking at the Woosh Gale folder, this seems to have a very good spec, at a reasonable price, with good reviews. However, on their website, Woosh state that it is not suitable for return journeys of more than 15 miles, but it has a stated range of 30 - 36 miles on flat roads. Is it just an issue of 20 inch wheels being less comfortable to ride? My cycling commute to work would be a 23 mile round trip - there is no way I could manage that at the moment, just in terms of my fitness levels, but one of the main reasons to get an electric bike is for exercise, so if I did eventually get fit enough to cycle that far, would the Woosh Gale or another 20 inch folder be suitable? I also really like the Juicy Bike Compact Click, but the same question applies. I could charge the battery at work. At 5'5' in height, I find that that 26 inch wheel bikes seem so large. Maybe I should look to try one of the petite range, with 24 inch wheels, although I don't believe any of these are folding bikes.

Why I like buying from Wiggle
Good customer service is key. Also if a company deals well with a problem, then you really get to see how good they are. If a company deals efficiently with a problem, it can actually be a positive customer experience.

Hill climbing - 20 inch wheels better?
Cycle carriers are definitely something I need to look into!

Will there be any ebikes at the London Bike Show?
There are a couple of bikes on my short list, but I have no dealers close to me to go for a trial ride, so I was wondering if there would be any ebikes at the London Bike Show next week. I have Juicy Bikes, Woosh, Batribike and Kudos on my short list. I could get up to Excel and try out a few on my list.

Hill climbing - 20 inch wheels better?
Sadly, my budget won't stretch to two ebikes. No Range Rover either. I have a Peugeot 308 SW. I could stretch to a used non-electric folder and either a folding or non-folding ebike, so then I would only need a cycle carrier for a max of three cycles.

Hill climbing - 20 inch wheels better?
We have two children's bikes, one mountain/step over bike and I'm intending to buy a step-through electric bike for myself.

Hill climbing - 20 inch wheels better?
I have read that a bike with 20 inch wheels will be lower geared and therefore better at climbing hills than an equivalent powered 26 inch wheeled bike. I don't have that many hills where I live, but I'm still deliberating about buying a folding, 20 inch wheeled bike, so that it would be easier to take on holidays. Otherwise we would need a cycle carrier that would take 4 cycles.

Frame size
Well noted, I do have a 30 inch inside leg measurement and correspondingly long arms. I'm looking for a step through frame; I have a crossbar frame and find it difficult to get on and off, due to some post surgery stiffness in my legs.

Frame size
When buying a non-electic bike there seems to be great importance put on frame size. As I'm not tall at 5'5 is frame size as important with an electric bike? It isn't always stated on the specifications.

Small Bike with Big Ideas - Kudos Tempo
I realise that this is an old thread but I've just come across the Kudos Tempo and it looks great. Wondering what height of rider it would suit? I'm 5''5, 30 inch inside leg ( and weigh a lot less than 100kg ! )

2nd Hand Electric bike under £400?
I would be very wary of buying anything mechanical like an electric bike second hand, although the prices do look attractive. I suppose like cars, you can be lucky. But a used bike which has a dodgy battery is going to cost a couple of hundred pounds to replace. My employer has never had a bike to work scheme. I may ask them if they can run one, but finances are very tight at the moment.

Folding bikes pros and cons
Thank you! Folder back in the running again now.

Folding bikes pros and cons
I think that I'm moving a way from a folding bike. With 3 bikes in the family, I think that a cycle carrier is the way to go, for trips and holidays. I also want to be able to pop out for quick trips and a folder would not have a fitted basket.

Folding bikes pros and cons
Shemozzle, looks good but over my budget I'm afraid.

Folding bikes pros and cons
Thank you Juicy Bikes! Any discount available is very welcome as I'm on a relatively tight budget, £900 tops really, and I also need to budget for extras such as a basket and/or panniers (planning to cycle to the local shops instead of using my car) a helmet and a decent lock, which I estimate will be about another £100.

Folding bikes pros and cons
I definitely need to get out and try some test rides!

Folding bikes pros and cons
Thank you for replying! I'll take a look at the Petite. I'm 5'5, and 10st so I don't consider myself petite! I'm planning a trip to Woosh bikes in Southend soon, to have a try out of some of their models. The last bike that I rode regularly was a Raleigh Twenty, in bronze. Loved that bike! No idea what possessed me to buy a mountain bike ( other than that it was very cheap and I bought if from a friend). I find it so difficult to get over the cross bar.

Folding bikes pros and cons
Hello, I am researching before buying my first electric bike and I am trying to decided on the pros and cons of a folding bike. I am not a very confident rider, (for that read I have been known to sometimes wobble) and I have read that folding bikes and therefore smaller wheels are less stable. Use wise, I am looking at general leisure use with the rest of my family (on pedal only bikes) and trips to the shops, 12-14 miles round trips. The commute to work would be 24 mile round trip and I can't see my fitness levels reaching that, even with a pedelec! I would want panniers and a front basket. The plus side of a folding bike is that I could fit it in the car for holidays, although we will probably need a bike rack anyway to transport the three other bikes used by the family. We sometimes hire bikes on holiday and I envisage taking my folding bike and keeping up with everyone else! I like the look of the Juicy Bike Compact Click and the Woosh Gale. I will post separately my short list of step through bikes.

So glad I found this forum - newbie seeking advice on 1st electric bike
Hello, As the title says, I'm very glad that I found this site. I am currently looking at purchasing my first electric bike, so looking for information and advice. I'm fairly fit when it comes to being able to walk long distances, but I haven't ridden a bike in over 20 year and my attempts to get back into cycling by buying a 2nd hand mountain bike where not successful, but I have learnt from my failed purchase that I really need a step-through. My husband can ride the mountain bike (even though it is dark pink!) Just looking at leisure cycling and trips to the shops, around 12-14 mile round trips. I have been searching and reading and have a short list that I will publish on the appropriate part of the forum.
