  1. Thanks for the info, but how did you run a double chainring? I thought the Bafang was only a single chainring?
  2. Jesus! I'm lost now! I thought it was just a case of stop pedalling, like the ol' Sturmey Archer 3 speed, change gear, and then begin pedalling again? The missus is a fair weather weekend cyclist on gravel tracks. Her 8FUN was upgraded for a bit of speed, but I'm knocking it back to road legal. Here in the UK, the Plod are seizing e-bikes and skateboards now. I can't really blame them.
  3. Thank you for posting this. I'm looking to add an Alfine to the missus' bike.
  4. Oh sorry, I realise this won't place the chainring closer to the frame.
  5. Has anyone tried this? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Oniissy-Chainring-Chainrings-Adapter-Mountain/dp/B0BCGX4RH6/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2DBPRANMY23SR&keywords=bafang%2Bbbs01%2B36T&qid=1664191582&sprefix=bafang%2Bbbs01%2B36t%2Caps%2C56&sr=8-5&th=1
  6. OK, thanks Peter. I'll take a butcher's..
  7. Will this not fit? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/314086658523 or this? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004064420316.html?_randl_currency=GBP&_randl_shipto=GB&src=google&src=google&albch=shopping&acnt=708-803-3821&slnk=&plac=&mtctp=&albbt=Google_7_shopping&albagn=888888&isSmbAutoCall=false&needSmbHouyi=false&albcp=17858129175&albag=&trgt=&crea=en1005004064420316&netw=x&device=c&albpg=&albpd=en1005004064420316&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1Y-44eKj-gIVmPdRCh0QnA6sEAQYAiABEgLTR_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&aff_fcid=32984552716c446983ddec9a0f330672-1663690713494-01063-UneMJZVf&aff_fsk=UneMJZVf&aff_platform=aaf&sk=UneMJZVf&aff_trace_key=32984552716c446983ddec9a0f330672-1663690713494-01063-UneMJZVf&terminal_id=8f945024fbe44e3fbd802add49f19a40&afSmartRedirect=y
  8. Well, what a few weeks I've had with trying to get copy bling ring from eBay! The seller, a company based in Southport (yet sent me emails in Chinese!) sent me the wrong ring and then offered me £5 off, then £13 off and couldn't comprehend that they had sent me the wrong chainring that was of no use to me whatsoever because it wouldn't fit and insisted that I paid for return postage and on, and on, and on... Until eBay finally stepped in to pay me back my money. Alas, I've still not got an offset chainring, so if there is anyone out there in the UK, whom has had successful dealings with an eBay company or knows where I can get a 36 tooth offset chainring for a Bafang 8FUN, then I'm all ears!
  9. Global warming??!!! Crown Industries run the worldwide fiasco. Politics is Hollywood for ugly people.
  10. Interesting. Thanks for that. I've been looking for a copy bling ring, but can't find an offset one in the UK. May I ask, do you have a link? Thanks.
  11. I need to correct the chainline. If I added one of these, is it OK to run the chainring on the inside? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/384882574329?hash=item599cca03f9:g:QHEAAOSwzpxielZm&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAA4O64Xz9ddN3ofJwWI9iwOQ2PVwzz8xrIVUSU2sqX1aZxJV18OO%2FEDdqHtUsO5UyJGDJPJFWnTjZq0t28PoE6bJNOsd5B7phqcvS7OM9UT0s08%2FD9wNEfXsFnlYkAGxMw0XPncKNeZsdH%2FCh0DW5w%2F1ezehG0NF3TgTAdPsBjSJJhDkTNNnZR6oVu1ak73XdAh7sXSTDpslApkpVn9rvlgIEPO3HuRplJMGjhwJTekeaRlKAGiEzHd3%2BKQyB4R9uCp%2B09Rkt21Oszyw1651JnchjAYpnQvp247i5st5oYeeJ8%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR7bw17TUYA
  12. Yup. Done all that. Totally baffled. It was working fine with the old levers, but I found they were a bit cheap and nasty, so I decided to keep the Specialized ones, as I liked the feel. Alas, I may have to send these back.
  13. No error codes when plugged and unplugged.
  14. I've tried unplugging and reattaching the sensors to no avail. I'm currently running a 42. The bike came with a 36, so I may just go back to that. Thanks Peter.
  15. Sorry for the late reply... I used spacers from an old set of V-brakes (see pic) Sweet! Yes, the crank clears the chainstay, but the chainring is 1mm from touching it! Anyhow, it is clearing, but the chain alignment is too much of a crossover to reach the lower gears. Not too much of a worry for now, but I've fitted brake sensors and the motor has stopped working altogether! I haven't fitted the throttle because I want the Missus to use her legs a bit! Will this cause the motor to cut out? Thanks!
  16. I'll try the paint mark, that seems like a good idea. Filing the BB!!! Jeez, you're brave!
  17. I managed to get the spacers, but I now can't fit the final cap on! Will it be OK to ride without this attached?
  18. Thanks for the info everyone. Sorry to ask, but where do you get the phone app from?
  19. Nealh and mr_ed, do you have a link to the eBay post by any chance?
  20. The motor sits flush against the bottom bracket and the chainring is 2mm away from the chainstay.
  21. Howdy! I'm trying to fit an 8FUN to a Rockhopper and there are two wee problems that I hope someone could please help me with? The Motor fits through the bottom bracket frame ok, but falls short when tightening up the bolts. Is there a thick washer that would fit? Also, the motor seems to hang a little low. has anyone else had this problem? It's on my girlfriend's bike and I don't want it booming out and catching on a rock or log etc. whilst out on our gravel path jaunts. A bit OTT, but she has a habit of smashing rear mechs and suchlike! Pics attached and thanks in advance!
  22. Seriously, thanks for all the suggestions, but the frames BB thickness would be down to a scary minimum if I was to continue! I ain't chancing it!
  23. Nothing is stopping it, apart from the inner thickness of the frame's BB.
  24. Nope to all of the above, I'm afraid. It would damage the bb thickness to such an extent, that the stresses on the frame would be too much to bear!
  25. I wish mine was as simple! I've spent all day on this and it still won't go in...
