  3. Another idiotic proposal https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/news/motoring-news/transport-secretary-set-to-introduce-20mph-speed-limit-for-cylists/ as this is all we have to worry about lol
  4. I will be willing to accept any reasonable offers as I may have originally set the price a bit high, after doing a little research I have reduced the price to £700 ono
  5. Hi all ive not posted for a while I have for sale a big bear+ purchased 3 years ago new from whoosh and I put very low mileage shortly after purchase due to illness most of the mileage has been in the last few months since my health has improved. It is in as new condition everything works no marks or damage whatsoever it has 7 gears a full throttle and 15ah battery which gives 50 to 60 miles range It has 194 miles on it of which 150 of those have been since may of this year and I have fitted a new gel comfort seat. the bike is a bit larger than I need now as I have gone from being over 16 stone to my present weight of just over 12 stone, and my health is improving greatly so I would like to get a smaller bike maybe a step through as my hips are not agile enough for the crossbar so I’m looking to sell this bike to put the money towards something more suitable. the big bear+ is no longer available to buy new from whoosh so anyone of a larger build I think they say up to 18 stone may be interested in purchasing this bike. This bike has been used on a fairly regular basis and most of the mileage is recent (last 3 months)it has always been kept in my well heated flat and the battery is in excellent condition and has been kept at about 80% charge. I am yet to find a hill in my local area it cannot climb with ease you would need to collect it from me but maybe you could combine it with a few days break in the lovely town of Newquay In Cornwall. asking price is £850 ono feel free to ask about anything I may not have listed Dave
  6. I bought a bike from electricbikeconversians which is a 500 watt rear hub direct drive which handles extremely well but can't hold a candle to the big bear when it comes to hills. If they made a rear hub bear then I'd buy one for sure. Dave Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk
  7. I know where your coming from marwood Having just sold my big bear to a fellow member for the same problem spinning out. I'm glad you have persevered because it is a powerful hill climbing bike for sure. Best of luck. Dave Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk
  8. First I'd like to thank Teejay for buying the bike It really was getting in my way, two bikes in the living room of a small one bedroom flat was a hassle to say the least. I'm of the philosophy that when I' ve had my use out of it, I'm owed very little when I no longer need it. Hence the money will go to a good cause and I won't keep scraping my shin's lol. Happy Ecycling all. Dave Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk
  9. Hi, I'm passing on my 14 month old big bear I've done about 270 miles since buying it march 2015 I have all receipts from woosh. I am selling this bike because it does not suit my style of riding, there are a few minor issue's which I will list. 1. Pas does not work the pick up disc fixed to crank is smashed but I use the throttle so not a problem for immediate use. 2. Front cut off switch not working rear is fine. I have now bought a lighter bike with rear drive hence the reason for selling the bear. Now the positive side, the bear knocks my new bike into a cocked hat when comes to hills I haven't found a local hill it won't climb. Right now the downside this bike is only available For pick I don't have any packaging and am not well enough at the moment so pick only from newquay in cornwall. The proceeds from the sale of the bear will be donated to my local charity Newquay Mind which is a mental health charity. Anybody that is interested bearing mind this for pick up only Can either reply on here or PM me I am open to offers and because this is for charity ( Mind Newquay) I thought anything over £200 will be acceptable. Thanks dave Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks for all the replies. It was probably a daft question I know but sometimes better to ask than to struggle, great idea about the stem riser yamdude I wasn't aware of their existence for bicycles cheers. Dave
  11. I've got 2 ebikes both 26 inch wheels and I get a lot of pain in my wrists I seem to be leaning down a lot so putting a lot of weight on my wrists I'm 6ft tall and weigh about 100 k ,is their a guide/rule regarding comfortable handlebar heights. Dave
  12. I bought a ready built bike from them with the 500 watt rear drive and have had it for a few months now. Excellent value for money currently getting about 25/30 miles on a charge and I'm about a 100 kilo, easy to reach 20+ mph and handles very well. Recently had failed charger phoned them up and received a replacement within a few days, very pleasant people to deal with. Dave

  14. Thanks for the welcome chaps. I believe there are few Cornish members On here but I have only seen 1 other ebike in my area and only the once. Dave
  15. That should have read rear wheel drive is my preference. Dave
  16. Thanks for the replies trex and Nealh I like the look of the zephyr b. I now know after 6 months of ownership that wheel drive is my preference. Thanks for the info. Dave
  17. Is there any reason why there are no rear wheel bpm motors, I have a big bear front wheel bpm very powerful hill climber but in wet conditions very quick to spin out. I also have a another bike which is 500 watt rear wheel direct drive motor which doesn't have any where near the torque of the bear but handle's beautifully in the wet, so is there such a thing as a rear hub bpm Dave
  18. Thanks Chris still finding my way round Tapatalk which is why I didn't reply sooner. Took the bear out yesterday in the wet and it's a bit of a beast to handle compared to my EBC rear wheel drive lol Dave
  19. I can remember my dad putting them in a warm oven to revive it
  20. When I worked in Holland in the 90s there was a cycle hire shop that still had dozens of those bikes for about 2 euros a day single speed fixed wheel, they must weigh a ton. Very flat of course like Norfolk Cambridge area, very tiring though having to pedal all the time, I'm not a natural cyclist though I've always enjoyed walking more Dave
  21. They are rod brakes really which used to get a bit stiff to operate in cold weather. l can't really explain how they work other than they are made up of a series of steel rods that fit along the frame in the same manner as the cables. and as I haven't worked out how to add images a Google at rod brakes will reveal all, anyway it's 50 years since I rode one lol Dave
  22. cable brakes. my first few bikes as a kid in 50/60s were all lever brakes
  23. No to be honest I can't see how its activated but have not had any issues brake wise. Not a very techy answer but compared to the big bear both seem to behave the same. Dave
  24. Thought this story quite interesting http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/london-cyclist-fined-for-speeding-in-richmond-park-after-he-is-clocked-at-38mph-a3102191.html Dave
