  1. Cane Creek Thudbuster ST suspension seatpost. 30.9, complete with all three weight compounds & neoprene cover. Some cosmetic wear to the finish on the post but mechanically perfect. Neoprene cover fitted from new. £95 delivered in UK or collect from Rotherham S63
  2. You could try contacting Halfords as they stock the coyote connect, another version of your bike. Or go straight to the importer for viking/coyote- Avocet cycles on 0161 727 8508.
  3. Lubricate the chain.
  4. Is there a missing link connection on the second chain? I wonder if the bike shop manually fitted a normal link pin and that is what parted.
  5. I thought all saddles were uncomfortable unless you ride them frequently. I have the same saddle on all my bikes but if I ever go a couple of weeks without a decent ride I know about it.
  6. I get what you are saying but these lamps ran a full shift with capacity to spare, 8 hours day in and day out year after year. Used and abused yet kept their users safe in conditions I can barely comprehend and all of this was 30 - 40+ years ago and today they can be revived. OP should have a play around, perhaps he only needs to go 2 miles not 99 on a charge, lets encourage him not discourage him .
  7. My neighbour has an interest in mining lamps, he takes lamps that have not been used since the early 1980s and refills them with electrolite from a car battery. Then over a period of days he charges/discharges them untill they achieve an acceptable use time. I have never seen him use so much as a voltmeter but I can assure you those old lamps have astonishing light when recovered, the "Gaffer" lamps have a wide and high beam feature that make me think they would make a good ebike headlamp. I am sure Gel batterys can't be treated the same but it appears to me Lead Acid batterys are pretty resilient so try a few Youtube ideas, what have you to loose other than the time you already admit you have. Good luck with it .
  8. No experience and no tools, I bought a decent spoke wrench although most of the build you use a screwdriver on the back of the nipple. I fashioned a truing station from an old pair of forks for the front and my turbo trainer for the rear.
  9. Look for some with 36 spokes per wheel, e-bikes need the additional strength and weight isn't an issue. Just over a year ago I bought all the parts and built myself a pair of wheels. Interesting task which I spent about 4 hours per wheel building and truing. You won't save a lot but you will learn slot.
  10. Typically a 45mm tyre and 650b wheel package will have the same rolling radius as a 28mm tyre on a 700c wheel package. To allow for the increased dimension of a typical MTB tyre you will need to drop to a 650b wheel, as a 700c (29er) with an MTB tyre will foul the frame if it wasn't designed to accept it. This only works with disc brakes but other than that it should be quite straight forward. You will need a cassette with similar range otherwise you may have to adjust/replace the chain every time you swap wheels. The 650b wheel and tyre package should give a more comfortable ride due to the higher volume tyres.
  11. Gubbins told the insurance co the bike went without the battery, it was up to them to arrange collection of battery, keys and documentation within a reasonable time scale and they did not. It is not up to Gubbins to explain the value of a used and unwaranted battery to an insurance company. It is of no use or value to them, hazardous goods with no warranty is an unsaleable item for a corporation. Gubbins could have taken the battery to his local recycling centre and billed the insurance co for his time and expense, or simply charged the insurance company for storage of a hazardous item that belonged to them, calculated on a daily basis untill they sent someone to collect it. As it happens he found someone who needed it and everyone is happy - but you Kuorider!
  12. Yes, but, full mudguards are "AWESOME", which pretty much sums up my original point, .
  13. My cube SUV Hybrid Pro is probably my best cycling decision ever, even though I still ride my conventional bikes whenever the circumstances allow. With a pannier rack on the back the e-Bike is unbeatable by my conventional bikes when loaded up and it means I can do a supermarket run without using the car. All well and good but as spring passed through summer and autumn I find myself in WINTER, all my bikes have been languishing unused due to my reluctance to have a road stripe up my back and a mud splattered face on arrival at my destination. It has only taken me 40 years to realise that full length mudguards are actually "AWESOME", I was twelve when I last pulled them off a bike and have shunned them ever since. How ignorant have I been, how much crap have I had in my face and how often I had to change clothing before I could sit on the sofa over the last 40 years! I got some bargain 60mm Raleigh guards off Ebay for a 26" wheel which fit great on my 650b wheels. I now cycle past Asda, Tesco & Aldi to get to Morrisons for my shopping. The Mudguards have half paid for themselves already due to £5 off a £10 spend at Morrisons.
  14. Something you will use multiple times every day as opposed to something you will remember to recharge once in a blue moon? Samsung Gear S3, desirable, tactile and functional or a BOSCH battery sat on a shelf? My offer back in your face, you know you want it :).
  15. Who polices this though, you walk into a bike shop with original receipt of purchase and report it stolen - despite the fact you just sold it for cash to someone? It has to be recorded via the Police, technology will eventually be able to link bike shops to Central Police databases but don't hold your breath. Like HS2 and the Third runway many of us here will never even see it.
