  1. Here Here! Just got back from a holiday and read this. As a first hand victim of EBW Southampton, I'd like to comend Wisper Bikes for taking the necessary action. Hopefully no one else will fall prey to the problems, inconvienience and expense that I have suffered.
  2. Grip Advice Thanks Inno and Flecc, I'll give it a try at the weekend and let you know.
  3. Dealer Woes Don't get me started! They couldn't even stick on a new handlbar grip I've now got an aching wrist trying to hold the throttle open as it happily spins round in the grip. And that was just the start, i had to take it back 3 times for them to fix what they did to the spokes. Paid £40 for the privilage I really think they'd finish it off if I took it back again.
  4. Hi All, Are there any Wisper 905 owners in the Southampton area that can help me? My Wisper inexplicably lost power on the way home from work, luckily in the last downhill stretch. All I get is the red empty light. I don't think it's flat, as there was now fading of power and I charged it, as I always do, at work. I Charged the battery overnight, and the next morning it was the same, the single bright red empty light. Throttling and pedaling have no effect? surelyy if it was the battery there would be no light? I'm loath to take it back to the dealer as it always comes back damaged or with an new fault. So I was hoping that a fellow Wipser user would allow me to try their battery on my wisper, to find out if my battery has died? Cheers
  5. You know Martin that's a good idea. I'm based in Southampton. Come to think of it I could do that at Electric Bike World in Southampton, but I'd rather avoid doing that for the reasons previously mentioned. Any Wisper owner in the Southampton area willing to help?

  7. Brake Levers Hi David, Do the new brake fit on a 2008 model 905S? If so would I easily be able to fit them myself? And if so, can I order a pair? Regards Seeker
  8. Above and Beyond! Gosh Bob!! Surely there's a safer way to get a drink?
  9. Wow! You mean I've managed to contribute something to the forum that you didn't already know!?! How often does that happen;) Of course I mean that in a respectful awe kind-of-way to your well earned guru status:D regards seeker
  10. Security Bolts I changed the QR saddle bolt on my wisper for a 'Pinhead Components' bolt. it comes with a special lever/handle a little bigger than a key so it can't be undone with spanner and is still almost as convienient as a QR. Plus, on a wisper, it has the added advantage of being able to secure the battery in place. (not for me though, cos I'm too tall). Regards, Seeker
  11. Maps Do you mean hardcopy Ordnance Survey Maps? Cos Memory Maps uses digitised ordnance survey maps and it pinpointed your location in less than about 5 seconds. I still uses it for cycling in the country. Wish I could say the same phone the iPhone (Jack of all trades)
  12. Twin? Hi Burncycle, How weird!?! I do the same as you, from the clothing right down to the 12miles to and from work! However, I'm finding the cold is going right through the Aldi winter gloves, which is no fun at all. Has anybody tried out those heated gloves? I bought a pair from Netto once that didn't work at all. Seeker
  13. iPhone Maps Hi Guys, Seems like I'm the only one who uses google maps on an iPhone. Before that I had a Mitac Mio with memory-maps. both were too expensive to mount on a bike. So I had to stop to check my location. Seeker
  14. Wisper is the new black Hey! I like black!?!
  15. With friend like that.... Hi Tenderbehind If he's your friend I dont want to meet your enemies.
  16. Here! Here! Nothing more to add but cheers to the wisper team.
  17. I'm just teasing Pedler, but eddieo is right. They are heavy. I have to carry mine over a footbridge across a railway line every morning (not fun:( ) and then you have to add to that the weight of the lock(s) need to carry around. Are you also aware that in a lot of cases, normal home contents insurance polices will not cover an electric bike, without clauses? I'm not trying to put you off.
  18. Hi Brad, I'm suprised flecc hasn't built himself one of these from scratch. Though if anything's going to get a coppers attention, whizzing by at 40+ on your back on one of these is sure. I bet 'Mussels' is itching to chuck one down one of his hills:D regards seeker
  19. So you want an electric bike to travel over a couple of miles of flat ground?
  20. ? So how do they work this law exactly? Arm they armed with speed guns?
  21. Purpose Hi Pedler, I think if, you haven't already, you should form a clear idea of What you are getting the bike for, over what terrain and distance, then look at the bike that best suits that purpose for you. The guys here will be a great help especially if you can fill them in on the above details. Oh! and make sure you get a proper (not just once round the car park) test ride before you part with your cash.
  22. OK, getting scary images of an unguided missile now. Please tell me your doing this on a long wide road that you can see for miles on? worried regards seeker
  23. Gosh! No wonder you needed to upgrade the brakes. does it feel stable at that speed? regards seeker
  24. Eh!?! 45mph!?! I'm sorry, my mistake. I thought this was the Electric Bicycle Forum.:o
  25. What the ......? Ok Flecc, I'm sure you've got a wisper too. I got mine at the end of July this year and I don't anything like the peformace your getting. Uphill I do about 11, on the flat I'll get 17 if there's no head wind and downhill no more than 27 (30 if I pedal like a nutter, very uncool). I reckon you've probabley taken yours to bits and rebulit it with loads of modifications. How can I get to go as fast as yours? grovelling regards seeker
