  2. I’ve used Aliexpress a lot and never had to pay any duties or additional fees ..currently deliveries are slow due to covid / Brexit but stuff arrives .. I’ve just received my 13.5ah bottle battery that ordered on 8/1 so if you are in a hurry it’s not the place to buy ..
  3. After 5 years of use the bottle battery ( labelled Burisch Powercell 36v 9ah) has given up the ghost .. I have ordered a replacement from China but in the meantime I am bikeless . I had a look at re-celling but the companies I looked at dont work on the bottle types .. can anyone recommend any company that will do the work? secondly is re-celling something I could do myself ( or is there a reason why nobody wants to touch them? ) any advice appreciated .
  4. can anyone help? Yesterday I forced my bike into the back of the car and in doing so it ripped all the wiring from around the headstock..sadly it's where the 2 sets of wiring are all different colours and I'm now stuck as to how to reconnect it ( there even seems to be a spare blue sure with no obvious home ) .. Does anyone have a wiring diagram or a photo showing how it should be reconnected? Any help or advice appreciated ( also any ideas of a better way to make the connections as the 2 terminal blocks are pretty flimsy and not waterproof) ... TIA
  5. I record my rides on Strava...as they are Ebike rides you don't get any sectors or PRs ( or maybe I need to do something else for it to record them?) I do it as it encourages me to try that bit harder and also I can see how regularly I am getting out...
  6. I bought the Hopper SE for just another £95 for my wife and so far very pleased with it...I actually quite like riding it myself...
  7. Thanks...I haven't as i thought it would defeat the object of fitting it, but if it offers more control than the PAS then I suppose it's worth a go......I will try it and report back...
  8. About 4 months, and no problems, just a few refinements...personal choice sort of things....
  9. I have a friend who commutes about 10 miles each way on his and he loves it...he has one biggish hill to contend with otherwise it's pretty flat...he found it a little under geared and changed the rear for a smaller top gear and was still thinking of adding a larger crank gear....I have a Burisch Synergy which is very similar I don't commute but would be more than happy to use it as a commuter bike..it's similarly under geared, but will happily cruise at 21 mph on pedelec....
  10. Yes it all connected fine, the throttle was checked and found to be working ok ( although I have ordered another one so may try that when it arrives) ..my brother found a dry joint which he soldered but there is still a fault on the sensor wire...I suppose eventually I will have to get another controller if she really wants a throttle.....
  11. I found that ok, but the sensor wire is faulty.....( unless I need to do something other than add the throttle...?? )
  12. I tried to add a throttle but it wouldn't work...appears to be either a fault in the controller ( several dry joints), or it has somehow been programmed to disable separate throttle?? Had to give in and reassemble for now...still works fine on pedelec but a thumb throttle would have been a nice addition...at least it gave me a chance to look inside the box of electrics....
  13. Well, it didn't work...the joint was definitely dry and there is now connectivity, but there is still no response when you use the throttle...( moving it varies the voltage from approx 1v to 4v ...) just put it all back together to await inspiration ....
  14. Quick update...my brother popped round...we have tested the throttle and it works fine..eventually I think we have traced the fault....the sensor wire from the controller isn't properly soldered to the PCB... Brother coming back later to resolder it...will report back if it works or not.....
