  1. anyone managed to de-restrict this bike? my bike cuts out at 13.9 mph, at least I'd like to reach 15.6mph or more (offroad of course) if possible.
  2. i have only done 900 miles, is it possible that it went ?
  3. the belt is aligned, i think. I also checked the tension with the gates app and its 45-49hz, which seems about right. the clunk happens when I stop and make the first push on the pedal, does not happen when I freewheel
  4. every now and than when I stop and start again, I hear a load bang, feels like when the chain is skipping a tooth, but there is no chain, so not sure what it could be. bottom bracket? anyone had similar symptoms ?
  5. no, I have not ... I deal with the bike shop directly, they gave me a new battery on the same day
  6. I went back to where I bought it ( cycle-republic) and they just lent me a new one till they investigate the problem
  7. Bad news, this morning, just after 370 miles, my gtech decided to die half way through my commute. It just stopped, with this warning: 01 - WAIT Low Temperature. It was a sunny, but chilly ( -1 C ) day I used it when it was -5 and it was fine before. Anyone had this?
  8. ah true, so it's just for aerodynamic purposes only
  9. nice, I only hit 300 miles after 1 month, still going strong, i only have some issues with the pedal. how come u have disk brake in the front? did u install it on the stock fork?
  10. anyone fitted bigger tyres on this bike? right now I have 700x38 just wondering what's the max that it can take?. I have the gtech mudguards and they seem to be very very tight fit.
  11. Here are my initial thoughts about this bike after the 1 week (100 miles) (me: 39 years old, 70 kg, think i'm fit, i recently climbed Everest basecamp, was commuting on a trek hybrid non e-bike, but got bored of climbing some hills) Pros: - good range for the battery size - simple, low maintenance - affordable - brakes are better than I expected (coming from hydraulic brakes) - very light - can pedal up to 18 mph on flat, but my cruising speed is around 13-16 mph - good power, even in eco, I'm flight up highgate hill in London, around 10% - battery indicator seem to be pretty linear Cons ( from most annoying to least) - the ride is not comfortable, loads of vibration, maybe I need a carbon fork? or bigger tires ? I already changed the saddle - motor cuts out too early at 12 mpg (eco) and 14 mph (max mode) - hard to stick to a certain speed, especially in max mode, not so good in slow traffic, like trying to follow other slower bikes, it's just want to accelerate to 14 mph - hard to change mode while u cycling, a button on the handle bar would have been better - no brake sensors - only one colour About range: on my first ride i used 40% battery in Eco mode, 18 miles ride, stop-start London traffic, around 300-400 feet ascent second ride, used 67%, same route, but in Max mode all the time + wind + rain, kind of worst case scenario for my commute. So Even in the worst case scenario my range was 27 miles, but bear in mind I'm putting an effort, using assistance to accelerate and tackle some hills, and cruising around 13-14, where there is only minimal motor assistance Overall I'm happy with the GTech ebike
  12. the controller is not programmable, this bike does not even have an LCD
  13. not sure if i can fit bigger tyres due to the slick mudguards, but it might worth a try if i'd go from 700x38 to 700x56 to the circumference would go from 2192.83 to 2305.93 which is 5% gain in speed at the same RPM.
  14. Are there any tuning options for this bike? I'd like to increase the speed to at least the legal speed limit, right now the motor cuts out around 14 mph ...
  15. forgot this: are u sure it's the bottom bracket? most of the time it's the pedal, at least for me, I go through a pedal in every 1k miles, but never replaced a bottom bracket, and i have done 10k with my other bikes
  16. thanks, actually today I picked up one so far so good. I was concerned about the big hill in London, what hill ? even in Eco it flew up, actually in Max it's crazy, it just wants to go max speed ... not so good in traffic when u have to follow "slow" fellow cyclist
  17. Tried one today in the shop, it was very good, but here is a bit of confusion: There seems to be 2 versions of the battery - V1 has a key lock, no LCD, just 4 bars - V2 no key lock, LCD with percentage gtech website has the picture with the lock/4 bars... I'd prefer the lock version but the shop has the V2 version, which I think is the older model... which one do u guys have?
  18. gtech website has not much info, but found it somewhere else, this is tyre: http://www.csttires.eu/en/products/anti-puncture/xpedium-safe.html Looks like some sort of anti-puncture tyre ... is it any good? or shell I just get schwalbe marathon plus from day one?
  19. Thanks, not sure about the v brakes, since I moved to hydraulic brakes never looked back. Are there any dropouts on the forks to fit brake callipers? And what tyres does this come with? Cheers
  20. I do like 5k miles a year, would u say this bike is well built to last me like 2 years?
  21. thanks the other thing I wanted to ask is: I heard this cuts out earlier than the 15.5 mph limit. Is that true? also how fast u can get it up to on flat?
  22. I'm considering the gtech sport bike for my daily commute, which is in London and around 20 miles. But it has some where steep hills, like the road up to muswell hill, which I think it's 12%, plus some long not so steep Would this bike handle it well with a single gear? what about the range?

I'm splitting my OXYDrive F-series 13Ah kit (because the controller stopped working.) I still have the Motor and the battery (with upgraded charger) if anyone interested PM me and we can make a deal. ( u need to collect it from North London, n29fe ) cheers

hi, thanks but, I decided to ditch this whole e-bike idea and going back to have a road bike. I have some working leftover from the kit if anyone interested PM me, otherwise they might end up in the bin: - OXYDrive downtube 13Ah-black - Front Hub Bafang motor - Upgraded Battery charger.
