  2. Thanks for your input, I have tried again today and still get the same results, with just the display connected to the controller it still shows error 10 (communication error). Changing p20 setting changes the error to e30, which is not even in the manual. I think I will have to source a replacement LCD and matched controller. Can anyone else throw any light on this error?
  3. Thanks for that, will look for a link. Have spent too much time - tried all solutions offered but error still exists.
  4. I bought a S866 controller and a brainpower controller from Ebay some time ago. Just got round to fitting it and get similar results. The throttle and pas both work but pas only on full power. The LCD shows error 10, which is communication error. Tried changing the settings for p20. No communication between controller and LCD. After rechecking all connectors and settings. I Suspect they are not compatible and it's too late to return it. Can anyone point me to somewhere where I can purchase a controller and LCD that will work please?
  5. I have bought a similar controller an LCD and found the info for the display if it helps anyone. Not tried to make it work yet.S866 lcd.pdf
  6. I removed the suspension seat post and put a standard one on, als make sure the bolt holding the seat goes above the clamps, see photo. That gave me almost an inch. Bob
  7. Hi Nealh, I have just looked at psw.com website, can't beleive the prices, it would be cheaper to replace everything at that rate. I don't know the rpm of the motor but it is a standard 36v rear hub motor in a 26 inch wheel. See picture, if it uploads. Oh and it has 6 thin wires but the white one is not used. Bob
  8. That's also a possibility, I like the idea of an lcd readout so will look into it. Thanks for the heads up.
  9. Hi David, congratulations! You certainly did better than me in approaching the suppliers even if it got you nowhere in the end. It would be interesting to see inside both controllers to see what the difference is, but because the board is potted with epoxy, a modification would be unlikely. I would like the email details if possible and also a copy of the wiring diagram and link to the manufacturer you found. My wife is getting quite excited by the forthcoming throttle. Regards, Bob
  10. Hi David, I tried phoning the importers / suppliers, they even if they had the information, they would not give it out as they said, that would be illegal. Seems a little daft as they also sell mobility scooters which have a throttle up to 12mph. I have opened the controller but it is potted in epoxy resin so probably best left alone. I couldn't see any extra wires to connect to. I have photos somewhere. Hopefully Blueboy will be able to show me which one he bought. Regards Bob
  11. My Freego has full throttle, I need it because of my worn out hips, but my wifes is restricted to 4mph. Which controller did you buy? She would love to have full use of the throttle
  12. Congratulations Blueboy, just shows it can be done. I would like to do the same, which one did you buy? Bob
  13. Hi Blueboy, followed you here . As you know I have the same situation and trying to get rid of the 4mph restriction on the throttle. I have the details and photos of the controller somewhere around, will look them out. Hoping someone can help us either remove the 4mph restriction or recommend a replacement controller.
  14. I too bought my wife one with the 4mph throttle and so I would like to remove the 4mph restriction. I have looked at the controller but cannot see any spare connectors or links to join. Hoping someone can throw some light on it or suggest an alternative controller kit.

Thanks for the welcome, I bought the bike against all advice about being lazy etc but find that pedalling with a little assistance is really good excercise, so yes really enjoying it. This forum seems to have something for everyone, looking forward to reading all the posts.
  16. Bought myself a Freego Hawk stepthrough - oldie with worn out hip joints so enjoying my newfound freedom. Found the forum via google search.
