  1. Thank you for the suggestions. I'll have a go over the weekend and report back on my success. Last minor problem to overcome and I have a really great kit.
  2. Thank you for the quick response. 1) Yes I believe I do have the narrow square BB.May I ask how you fixed it with the coffee can. 2) Thank you, that saves me worrying about that then. 3) Thanks once again, that's a relief, good to know there is nothing wrong with it.
  3. Hi, Since the initial excitement with my Oxydrive I've hit a couple of minor snags. Today when cycling home my Sensor ring stopped turning and the drive cut out. I wasn't sure why until I got the bike home and had a closer inspection where I noticed the sensor ring with the magnets had stopped turning with the pedals. (It's the sensor that is in two parts and connected with the metal ring. It's on the opposite side to the chain) Another minor issue is that on my battery I had two lights showing showing half charge but on the display it was showing four lights and full charge. Finally I don't believe my throttle works properly as it doesn't appear to give me much power when i push it. I don't move the pedals and press the throttle but even at level 6 there is just a trickle of power. (Edit it give 4mph no matter the pas level 1-6) Hopefully just minor teething problems but any help would be great.
  4. I noticed that on my first test ride today. Was a bit of a shock, Came to a standstill at the junction and casually turned the pedals and off I went again. Do love the boost when starting off, but just got to ensure I only get it when I want it.

Finally put mine together this weekend. Took longer than expected due to a few minor niggles such as cable ties being too short, cassette tool not fitting over the new hub, needing a 4.5mm washer as my bike is only 7 speed. Once I had overcome these delays I was finally able to put the bike together. Just back from my first test ride, All went well, the pas kicked in and I was motoring up hill with little to no effort. Really enjoy the boost you get when you start peddling, Initial impressions are very good, given new life to my old bike. Looking forward to a proper ride when i get the opportunity
  6. Looks like the offer has ended. Perhaps if you email them, they may do a deal for you as you've only just missed the deadline. I bought mine a couple of weeks back, but had a couple of minor setbacks so I'm not quite up and running. The cassette tool I had didn't fit over the new hub, so had to purchase a new one and my 7 speed cassette doesn't fit the hub motor as it's made for 8/9/10 speed cassettes. I've had to order a 4.5mm spacer. Hopefully by the weekend it'll be up and running.
  7. Looks great Bolt, Have you got a torque arm on the bike? I was unsure whether to get one but have decided to add one to my build for that peace of mind

Ignore the below.... I've read back through the thread and discovered I need the 12mm. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Good evening, I've bought the oxydrive http://www.oxydrive.co.uk/electric-bike-kit/oxydrive-cst-ht-13ah.html I'm not back at home though for a few days so haven't had the chance to fit it. I suddenly thought I haven't bought a torque arm, but would like to fit one at the same time as when I get the opportunity to install the kit. Can anyone who has one please tell me whether I need the 12 or 14mm torque arm? Thanks in advance, it'll save me having to delay the install. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: Read back through this thread and discovered I need the 12mm, so all good!
  9. Hi

Will do, went to order it last night but realised I hadn't updated my new card on paypal. Frustratingly I now have to wait for a code to be able to link the card to my account. Going to have to wait until tomorrow now
  10. Hi

Thanks Bolt, I agree, that was what has had me leaning towards the Oxydrive. It does look neater and not having to remove the pedal is a bonus. Thank you for the pics and updates. Going to order an Oxydrive
  11. Hi

Chrisk replied to Bolt's topic in Introduce Yourself!
Thank you for the update. I'm now considering this over the EBC kit at £425 as although £100 more it seems like a £100 well spent? I can afford to go to £525 unless anyone else has some input or recommendations. I plan to purchase tomorrow. My other option would be a full electric bike making use of the back to work scheme. I liked the look of the greenway but sadly it's not available on the scheme. Thanks once again for the input and thank you Bolt for updating so quickly after my response. It's much appreciated when there is so much choice.
  12. Update. Heard from Jamie who was most helpful, In my earlier post I was little impatient in my rush to get by bike up and running. Jamie has got back to my emails and he has been very accommodating. Based on my updated experience I'd be happy to purchase from EBC.
  13. Hi

Hi Bolt, how did you get on with the Oxydrive?
  14. Thank you for the replies. I tried through their website and followed up through their direct email address. Haven't been able to call as I'm currently working long shifts. This is often the case which is why I like email contact, I can send an email at unsociable times when a call is not suitable.
  15. Was looking to buy a kit from them after a recommendation on my thread, however, in the past week they haven't responded to the couple of emails I've sent. Will have to shop elsewhere as a lack of communication when trying to buy doesn't bode well if needing assistance if anything goes wrong. That's the trouble with such tight margins
