  1. That's a good point maybe I will just go for 35 as my mudguards are fairly close fitting. I'll see how I get on fitting them the Kenda's go on and off with just my thumbs.
  2. Another question, can I fit a 700c x 40 instead of the 700c x 32 that is on the wheel and what is the difference ?
  3. Those pre slimed tubes sound like a good idea, every time I mend a puncture I just think next time I'll sort it but I just keep riding till I get another. I'll get her sorted over the Easter break.
  4. Wow, I would just like to thank everyone for their contributions, there's certainly some good ideas. It's much the same as awol all the puntures in the rear, a new tyre some slim and less chocolate bars maybe
  5. I must admit I have had a similar experience with slim type products but I think some Shwalbe's are on the cards.
  6. Thanks Gubbins, I'll take a look
  7. Morning all I'm using my Cannondale Quick 5 with an Oxydrive rear wheel conversion for short commuting and 4 punctures in 10 days on the stock Kenda tyres is enough, any recommendations for something more resistant ?.I don't do any off road riding just the lovely bumpy roads of Norfolk, the tyre size is 700C x 32. Thanks Gaz
  8. I also use my levers as clutches for want of a better description, you don't always want a shove at junctions or in busy traffic.
  9. Hi Neil Yes I have the Panasonic 14ah battery it seems to perform really well. The charger did come with a non U.K. power lead but one from a laptop charger fits just fine. The other advantage it does have is a split pas ring which is easier to fit than removing a pedal, it was easy to install the kit but as with kits there's a bit of fiddling to do but I enjoy that side of things. We did a pre fitting of all the parts and it fired up first time no problem, we then tidied it all up. I'm fussy so all in all about 3 hours.
  10. I did look at both kits but I needed a 700c wheel and I wanted the higher torque SWX02 motor so I choose the Oxydrive but it seems you can spec the wheel and motor from the good people at Woosh. When I bought the Oxy kit it was on offer and at £540 it's a great deal but I wouldn't have paid £799. Performance wise it's very good and I ride along with a cheesy grin (Easier to grin when you're not breathing out of your ass riding home lol)
  11. Hi Neil I have recently fitted the Oxydrive kit and yes it can be massaged easily for that little extra, as for reliability I have only had it 3 weeks but so far so good. Ref Chris's question I emailed Andrew at Oxy and he said a torque arm was not needed so I have not fitted one and again no problems so far.
  12. Hi d8veh I'm a lofty bloke at 6ft 4 and the Cannondale is a jumbo frame and just feels right plus I read on here that the Oxydrive kit is the same as on the Oxygen ebikes so it was a done deal.
  13. Hi Neil Yes at £800 it's expensive for a rear hub but at £525 plus £15 shipping as it's on offer at the moment it's good value and easy to fit. That said I have only had he kit for two weeks but so far I am very happy with it. I should also say that it's my first foray into ebikes so I have nothing to compare it with but I don't want to be without it already
  14. Hi Jake I recently fitted the same kit to my Cannondale Quick. I had the same problem fitting the LCD on fat bar centres and made a bracket out of a reflector holder, seems to do the job. The unrestricted throttle speed seems to be directly linked to the Pas setting, see the following. 1 8mph 2 10mph 3 12mph 4 14mph 5 18mph 6 20mph This is just based on raising the rear wheel.

Cheers Leigh Here is the Cannondale with the Oxydrive CST kit.

Hi Chris I also seriously looked at the EBC kit as its good value but the Oxydrive has a couple of things I prefer. The controller is part of the battery holder which looks nice and tidy and you don't have to remove the pedal to fit the PAS sensor which I don't have tooling for. The more I ride the bike the more it impresses me, I will try and post a pic later of the bike.

Hi d8veh Yes it's very comprehensive and I can change the pas settings on the move which is nice. It's my first e bike so all this stuff is new to me and I am enjoying the learning curve. It's an addictive experience and I can see me wanting more e bike's in different styles.

Hi Chris The Oxydrive kit arrived on Friday and me and my son fitted the kit to my Cannondale quick 5 on Saturday. The kit is good quality and being a kit we had to make small modifications to the pas sensor and the lcd bracket but nothing too difficult. Performance wise it's very good although I have nothing to compare it with, it cuts along nicely and I can put as much effort in as I want so I still get my exercise. All in all happy so far but I have only done about 10 miles.

hi Gaz Slow response sorry, work an all. It sounds like a great idea but there are few places here in Norfolk. I took the plunge and have ordered the Oxydrive kit, should arrive today or tomorrow for fitting at the weekend. Fingers crossed it all goes ok, excited to join the ranks of e bike riders.
  21. Hi ultrafunkula Any chance of a link for the Greenaway bike as I can't seem to find much information about it and it sounds interesting. Thanks
  22. Hi

Good afternoon from deepest darkest Norfolk. I've been reading the forum for some weeks now and it's really opened my eyes to the world of e bikes. Now I want one, l commute around 6 miles a day to work not far I know but hey I still want one. I currently ride a Cannondale quick 5 in a jumbo size and I am leaning towards an OXydrive cst rear kit, would this make a good fit ? any help and advice would be awesome. Thanks
