  1. You say the voltages appear okish for each cell, Now put them under load and then check the loaded volts
  2. I've tried the cling film method and secured it with a rubber band but it don't last long, tears and rips easy and just looks horrible. Took the LCD off, split it, dried it out and sealed it with some black RTV silicone. Refitted just now and about to go for a leisure ride
  3. Only problem I suffer is the LCD fills with moisture, taken me 3 days to dry it out, took it off the bike last night to properly dry it out and to try and seal it against the elements.
  4. I'm in Dartford Kent if anyone wants to meet up at weekends for a leisure ride, maybe along the river Thames footpath etc.
  5. And an 18mm spanner is worth its weight

  9. A handle bar thermometer would be so inaccurate in the summer months as the sun's radiated heat will be absorbed into the black case and give over exaggerated readings. I've tried

Mines is.... Cogs....No it's gears or sprockets. When people say numbers eg.. 0800 591 460 It's a Zero as that is a number, it's not an O because that's a letter.
  11. http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/a-thought-on-adverts.27608/#post-372365 Is this what you mean?
  12. And one more question. Is the calliper mounting holes the same spacing for mechanical as for hydraulic, So basically remove and refit or is there different calliper mounting size holes? Thanks all for your replies. Seen some 2nd shimano front hydraulics for £20. I think it's time for an upgrade.
  13. Curiosity now. I have resin pads with sintered metal copper and brass particles embedded, Is this normal for resin pads?
  14. Thanks for reply, still toying with the idea, as the maintenance aspect isn't an issue with me as I am a Lexus Master technician, I asking hear what you are saying regarding to feel/brake force applied but I really can as you say modulate the effort needed, I really can judge lock up even on gravel/dust and adjust accordingly.. But I may upgrade just for the luxury of knowing I'm using hydraulics. Thanks for your feedback.
  15. Brake pads used are cheapo resin with copper particles £.179p from eBay.
  16. Hi all, pondering with the idea of upgrading my mechanical disc set up with hydraulics, but my only reservation is so I really need to?. Last night a did a few test rides with heavy braking down a steeping hill and got up to 26.8mph. I used two finger pressure on the levers and with that force I was able to lock up the rear brake and skid on each test and the front I could have easily locked it up and had to reduce finger pressure to stop me doing a face plant over the bars. So with my brake set up would I gain much from changing to hydraulics?
  17. Looks a nice simple set up Dave, such a simple servo idea
  18. Nice one mate, well done
  19. Jokes Dave, found it on another group
  20. Getting ready for a little ride out over the weekend.
  21. 4 year old leisure battery that I've just got out of hibernation, uses for very deep discharges as a battery I use at work to find electrical faults and jump starts, this battery is heavily abused.
  22. I have a 100ah leisure battery that I regularly discharge down to near on zero for the last 3yrs, u then recharge it and it comes back to full life everything. A leisurely battery is a deep discharge battery and it's designed for this type of discharge. Far too many scare stories of not allowing them to discharge below 50℅ I bet you will either sell your motor home or stop using the batteries long before they give up the ghost. Leisure battery=deep discharge
  23. M+ Defo far superior puncture protection but absolutely no good off road, no grip what so ever and feel very lardy., That's why I went for the LC
