But this is my take on it, its pedal assist so as long as the sensor is picking up a signal from the chain ring then it really don't matter the chain ring rpm as the highest power level should max out my mph with me just keeping the chain ring spinning, if I just a to a taller ratio that just means the extra speed is coming from my input which i could not substance for very far, where as throttle gives a higher mph with lesser nor no input from me, i just thought that the would be the same as to legal restriction, quite happy for a little folder to do 17.4 unaided, just curiosity. Hi all, I have a 36v 250w folder from elife, cheap bike that does the job for occasional nice day rides out. Generic led panel with 3 levels of assist. In level 3 and me pedaling as fast as my little legs with max effort I can only max out at 15.1mph GPS, But if I open the throttle 100% I can feel an increase in power and takes me up to 17.4 GPS without pedalling, happens every time no matter what suitcase I'm on Is this because my gearing is under geared and 6rh is too short or is it electronic wizardry? Hi all, l am looking for a 20in rear hub wheel and motor as my one has failed..I borrowed a wheel from my mates to confirm it's not wiring or controller and all work good. So I either need a wheel or someone who is capable to fit 3x hall sensor into my old wheel. Happy to travel most distances if any one can help, cash waiting Many thanks

Hi, I have a byocycle city speed folder and was impressed that talked my mum into buying a used but very low usage byocycle Chameleon so she can commute to the local hospital to visit my dad. She came out of visiting last Sat eve and powered the bike up, all display lit and then found she had NO assistance at all by throttle or assist, I collected the bike and got it home, checked everything out and all wires battery base volts and connectors fully intact with no physical or water damage, What I did notice is that If you power up and leave it it stays in that state but with no assistance, but the moment you move the bike 10mm forward or backwards then the display will flash power level 4 LED but this will only flash 8f you move the bike. Also noticed that If you lift when rear wheel of the ground and then operate throttle it will start to spin the wheel for 3 secs then cut out and then flash no4 power level LED, also it then really growls like an angry dog. I suspect a hall sensor but that is far as I can diagnose. I spoke to BYOcycles and was disappointed to hear that hall sensors are not sold as a replacement....new motor required. Please if anyone can help or advise me to trace and diagnose the fault, I have a good mechanical and electrical background as been a mechanic for 44yrs and a Lexus master tech for 22yrs, but no experience of e bikes. Hi, I sold both of my e bikes last July when I got my license back, being car fan and love driving and also my job fixing them that I never thought that I miss the feeling of being on an assisted push bike. So 2 weeks ago I went out and bought a Freego folder with a brand new 16ah battery, with the idea of folding it up and putting it in my boot for further exploring and coastal paths ect, I have already done a few sections of the River Thames cycle paths and quite often ride down to my local fishing lakes and watch the wildlife settle when the sun sets. Glad to be back riding and now having the choice to use the car to pop down into town for few bits or get the bike out...its usually the bike now as its so simple. Good to see some familiar poster still no here as I've learnt a lot from reading your replies. Thanks for reading

The speed can be adjust to 20mph by accessing the main menu by holding down two buttons and then select max speed cut off,,set to 20mph. It does have a throttle but that is at 5mph and it's classed as walk assist and NOT twist and go. Never needed twist and go as it's so simple to ride. As long as you can turn the pedals and power set at 5 it's as good as twist and go. It does alter the power delivery tho so you can alter power lever 1-5 by throttle control whilst riding.
