  1. I did my longest ride on monday. It was 52 miles with almost 8,000ft of elevation gain over some extremely rough terrain. I noticed that with only 5 bars resolution (BOSCH) it is kinda hard to evaluate how much power I can use to safely get back home. I live on top of a hill, so I really don't want to get stuck at the bottom with an empty battery This was the first time I drained it down to the last bar. What happens next? The last bar disappears and the motor shuts down? Or is there some power left after all the bars are gone?
  2. A great ride to the top of a local hill (1688m). Love the bike. It climbs like crazy, and I'm also gaining some confidence on the way down. 5 hours, 2000 meters, still 2 bars left. I used all 4 modes (switching all the time), so I really look forward to the new eMTB mode.
  3. I just like numbers. Same reason for altimeter, speedometer, odometer, HRM, etc... As for inaccuracy, it is actually pretty accurate when riding at least 10mph.
  4. Thank you for the ideas. A cheap bicycle computer with thermometer might really be the best solution.
  5. Huh, I was in SPORT and couldn't keep my heart rate bellow 180. But the terrain was really hard and steep. Will probably ride some easier trails in the future. But my HR is one of the reasons I got the eMtb.
  6. The one in the link is 5cm. I would be happy with 3cm.
  7. Did anyone ever see one? I would love to have it, bu can't find one ANYWHERE. I would even make a mount for it myself if there would be one small and simple enough. This is the closest I got, but it is still too big: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Digital-LCD-Thermometer-Humidity-Temperature-Hygrometer/32790010723.html
  8. This is the eastern most part of the Alps. Slovenia. This is at 1600m, the snow starts at 2000+ here.
  9. I actually enjoyed going up more. It was very cold and my fingers were frozen on the way down. I'll try again when it's nice and warm. But it was nice anyway. Mostly because this is my first full suspension bike. And on top of that also first bike with a decent front suspension. It feels like sailing over the rocks.
  10. My first real MOUNTAIN climb. Climbing 3280 feet in 6 miles. The terrain was very different. From tarmac to rocks, dirt, sand, roots.... I was keeping my heart rate at max most of the time, and using modes from ECO to SPORT. Made it to the top in an hour and a half. Riding uphill in sport is sooooo much fun. I'm sure it would be almost impossible to climb this mountain with a normal bike. 3.7 miles left with 4 bars remaining :) Yes it did help me A LOT!
  11. I just noticed there are no nuts on the valves. And I can actually push the valve inside the tire. Is that a new thing and it's normal? All my older bikes have the nuts to keep the valve in place.
  12. Disc brakes really got better. And adjusting the travel of the brake lever even further improved performance. So braking is now up to my expectations.
  13. I got this info when I bought my bike last week. It will be available to install in the shop in August. I was told it will add a mode that will automatically change between TOUR and SPORT. Will probably get it, but I'am not sure it will make a lot of difference. I probably won't even notice it in action. P.S. Checked out the bosch site. It will actually continuously adapt the power from TOUR to TURBO depending on the user power input. Now that might be a nice mode. Because TURBO now really feels too trigger happy.
  14. Yes, but that is the problem. I ease off and shift, but the motor keep going for a bit longer.
  15. After a few more rides, the braking might really be a bit better. Will wait for a real "downhill" ride, before complaining to the shop.
  16. After months of waiting my Cube is finally here. I only had a chance to drive it from the shop to my house, but I'm already more than happy with it. I started driving in OFF mode, and only turned to ECO uphill. It is an incredible feeling. It almost feels like driving downhill all the time After about 20 miles (and a few up and downhills, 100m in altitude on a rocky trail) I started to feel tired and I switched to ECO full-time for about 10 miles and the pain in the legs went away immediately. For the grand finale, I live on top of a hill. 300 meters of elevation in a few miles. I switched to TOUR and was smiling all the way to the top Right before the end the first bar on the battery finally disappeared. I was getting worried it might be broken Yes, I was a bit tired, and could use the battery more, but that is not why I bought the bike. I only intend to use the motor to help me climb the hills I have trouble climbing on my own because of a very high heart rate. And also in the mountains, where the trails are too steep to even try riding before. A few more things I noticed. Shifting when motor.powered is kinda hard and loud. The chain/something(quick clicking sound) is VERY loud when riding and not pedalling. Walk assist works great. It even works with me on the bike and not turning the pedals.(up to 4mph) The chain does not turn when back-pedalling. Really didn't know that. The brakes are MUCH weaker than expected. (My first disc-brakes) Seller said they would become stronger with use...? More info with pictures follow soon!
  17. Indeed! So we don't end up with a test similarly stupid as NEDC is for cars
  18. Or twice that much, since you usually drive back home.
  19. Close to worst case range should be advertised. And there would be a lot of happy customers
  20. I did a quick calculation, and a 500Wh battery is enough to lift 100kg for 2000 meters (6561 feet). Assuming you provide the energy to overcome the friction and wind.
  21. I live right under the mountains, so I will do a lot of climbs. But I intend to also put in as much of my own power as possible. A better metric would probably be how many meters of climbing you can do on a full battery.
  22. Uh, 22km is really not much. I am hoping for at least 100km in mixed modes.
  23. No, I will not use the bike to it's full off road extent. My rides are about 60% gravel, 30% tarmac and 10% offroad. The usb charging port is also nice to have, but again, not sure how much I would actually use it
  24. Hi. I ordered my Cube, and it comes with Purion display. Does anyone know if I can replace it with Intuvia? And is it even worth it? I think the power assist level info would be nice to have. What do you think? If you maybe used both?
  25. Great! I could not find this anywhere! Thank you! Glad to see I will not have to pedal like crazy to go 20mph.
