  1. Never had any problems with Unit Pack Power on AliExpress. V fast delivery, tax free, genuine cells, German office, warranty support excellent too.
  2. The problem you describe is usually caused by speed sensor and usually something as simple as the gap between magnet and sensor. I would mess around with that first before looking for anything complicated. A weak signal can confusingly produce an overspeed cut out which feels exactly as you have described. For a start is the magnet tight on the spoke it may need packing out or the plug tight as there is a resistance point prior to full insertion. That secret menu is very useful for checking out the torque sensor. I used to use it all the time to see what human power I was inputting before I changed over to the open source firmware found on endless sphere which turns this somewhat dull drive system into a fantastic piece of kit by adding Field oriented control.

  4. I use aeroshell 22 on both Tongsheng and Bafang mid drives and have nothing bad to report. As it is so cheap I use it for general bike maintenance as well.   5. I use the GWR site and that allows me to book a bike reservation if available at time of buying a ticket. There is no commission charge unlike some of them, a paper ticket collected from a station ticket machine is free and you are not forced to take an E ticket like some of them. All the train companies allow you to book online and AFAIK allow you to book tickets on each others services but some do charge a booking fee and some only provide an e ticket free of charge. You can also use the other non train company sites but they do charge a fee and don't provide bike reservations. If you are using the split ticketing sites then you won't have the option of a bike ticket. The best way then is to write down the different trains and times and go into a station and purchase the tickets plus bike reservations for the journey the staff don't seem to mind as it helps stop them being replaced by machines plus there is no booking charge that the split ticketing sites add and they will try to book you the same seat all the way.
  6. It's easy enough to book a space if available. If buying a ticket on line or at station then it can be done at the same time. If you have an open ticket then go into a station and book a space for the train you going to catch. X country have 3 spaces only two reservable so you may still get on without a reservation. GWR HSTs have six spaces in proper bike compartment unfortunately the new trains will only have 2 spaces, local trains can not be reserved and first come first served but some conductors will allow people to stand with their bikes. The carriage with the bike spaces has a bike symbol outside. On HSTs it is at the opposite end to first class. Go for it, it's a fantastic free service.
  7. The DPC 18 I have in front of me, the standard version, has Bafang written on the front and is version DP C18.U 2.0. On the back.
  8. Yes that is what this thread is about the DP C18UART. Made by Bafang. The custom programmed version Luna sell is fully functional in 9 levels of PAS and can be reset., the standard version only has 5 levels of PAS can not be reset and has eco sports modes AFAIK not usable with Bafang BBS. The literature out there is very confusing with the Bafang website quoting 9 levels of PAS as an option, which I have had confirmed is not correct for the standard version.
  9. Avoid the standard DPC 18. You can't even do a factory reset on it or reset the total odometer. AFAIK The only version that is fully functional in 9 levels of PAS is the one that Luna sell. I was caught out too. Edit: the eco sports modes have no function that I have found, and I have tried hard, on a BBS HD.
  10. Problem you describe, low pedal assist after switching on, which catches us all out at times. Is usually caused by not waiting for the torque sensor to recalibrate before pedaling or placing pressure on the pedals, so it wrong sets the zero torque level. Although the display comes on instantly the controller is still going through the calibration process for a few seconds after the display comes on.
  11. Try a Brooks sprung saddle or even just a non sprung Brooks saddle rather than a pogo stick seat post.
  12. BBSHD if you have the dosh, they are so well engineered. Tongsheng is good in it's own way though a tad noisy under load, choose option with throttle they cost just pennies more, the latest 52v 750w has good range. Beauty of mid drives is they are so easy to fit and move around your bikes on a whim.
  13. Most of it is either snake oil or re inventing the wheel. There's one that has never been bettered, scorned by many who have never tried it and works..3 in 1.
  14. Check out the Panasonic/Sanyo GA cells yourself with data sheets. You are getting strange info/hearsay on this thread. You won't find better cells at this moment in time for what you want. Don't forget to see if they will upgrade the charger from 2A too.
