  1. Hi Lee.Pie Great donor bike indeed, got a question. How many speeds do you now have 7,8 or 9? and do you have a cassette or freewheel fitted on that motor.
  2. Hi All, My expeirence with BMS battery, order placed on 23rd of April. Few days on and nothing from them, after 2 weeks I chase this up and ask when do they plan to send it? The reply comes that I have to wait because they have order order first. Well, great but at least they could send me the email or something that it will be a bit of a wait but nothing, no info at all unless you chase them up. ok so I'm waiting and here after few weeks the email comes saying that they don't have 7 speed freewheel and if I can accept 6 speed? They also ask if I can accept the BPM motor 36V 500W when I had on order 350W. If I accept then I have to pay them extra $10 bucks. Ok I accepted it as it supposed to speed up my order. On order I had a bpm motor with low speed high torque. This week I'm getting the email saying we don't have a high torque low speed bpm so can we send you the 398RPM motor? If not then the wait is another 2 weeks. I mean how crazy is that, I would probably do 40mph on that and never climbed any hill so I said no thank you I better wait but asked them if it is only 2 weeks more of wait and if they sure of that? BTW you have on order a Ferrari but instead would you accept the Fiat Doblo because that one is out of stock??? Got the reply this morning that it will be another 4 weeks which in Chinese time reality will probably turn to another 8 weeks. I said no, that's enough give me my money back. Finally got the refund today on 7th of June. This is my story, the funny thing is that at the time of placing the order their website was showing something like 900 motors in stock. No offence I know few people on this forum actually got their orders but to me it's a typical Chinese attitude which you can find in majority of China BMS Battery.com is a Bad choice, at least for me I will never place any order with them anymore. all the best Andy
  3. yes I always loved the Bosh Electric Bike Drive, I love the way it looks and I think it will be a very serious competition for Panasonic drive, don't you think?
  4. Hi Inglesse, If you complain about 135kg with Cycles maximus then why not try the Maxpro Street Flyer pedicab rickshaw At least weights 60kg with an electric assist, sadly it does cost 3595 +1295 for heinzmann power hub
  5. I think ETS is hoping to get some more revenue from the 10 year warranty scheme. At the end of the day they will be getting £40 every six months for labour costs, that amount is does not include the parts which frankly will have to be replaced several times anyway over the 10 year period. i.e Electric Parts: Bafang motor won't last 10 years if used daily Controller might go too after few years Brake cut outs too Throttle might need to be replaced too Other parts: Freewheel and chain - least twice over 10 years Brake pads - least 7 times over 10 years Rear rim on 905, 705 - about 3 times over 10 years Tyres - at least 10 sets over 10 years Remember that on replacing all of these components ETS makes a profit because they will be selling those at the retail prices so the revenue from sales of those is quite significant. Eventually not everyone wants to keep one bike for 10 years so I think only few people will claim the new batteries. To me it is a clear selling strategy that will not only boost sales but also bring a nice stream of revenue to the ETS.
  6. yeah, just be careful when walking through Battersea, not the best place to walk, particularly at night

  8. Got The First Class Degree Thank you to everyone who completed this survey and helped me out in my dissertation. Today the letter with results from uni arrived and I got the FIRST CLASS DEGREE. It's been a really hard work and thank you to all of you for help. Without your help I couldn't make it
  9. The Ezee range looks like its a decent brand. The bikes are well equipped and for a reasonable price. It's a shame these are not available for the dealers. I think these would really sell well in london so it's shame we can not have these our electric bike shed.
  10. that must be such a shit car then, would u reveal the make of it. At the end of the day i'd prefer to buy a £500 battery rather than drive dying car:D
  11. great news David, just as a matter of interest, can you publish the code of practice as it seems to be unavailable at bebas website
  12. Hi all, My data collection slowly comes to the end. I would like to thank all those decided to fill in this short survey. Your help is really very much appreciated. Unlike other students I managed to collect enough within my minimum number of responses (100) within first 24 hours of going online. I know my mates collect 100 responses for over one week. Be smart, play smart and save your time. You guys did a fantastic job, once again many thanks Those who still wish complete one you can do it at the link below: Consumer behaviour online Closing time is today @ midnight take care Andy
  13. just found this website PAYPAL SUCKS.com interesting stories but don't know if that is true, it could be like WIKIPEDIA not much trust in it:)
  14. Thanks NRG, You are totally right as someone already send me a PM about this issue. When you design the questionnaire you make several changes and I even released the pilot series to see how my respondent see it. Now I know that I will have to put this in limitations of this research and leave it as subject to further investigation (hopefully someone else will do it) Last month I bought a SUBARU T-shirt on Ebay from Hing Kong ( I was very greedy for the low price) and the T-shirt still hasn't arrived. So far bit disappointing to wait so long but I hope it will arrive one day Never more shopping in China, sorry Chinese traders;)
  15. Does PayPal offer you extra protection Thanks Mussels for your thoughts. Mind you asking if you had any bad experience with PayPal??? I would also love to have your views here. Apart from having just quantitative analysis I got to have some qualitative ones as well so I think the small focus group here on pedelecs would be a fantastic thing. I know that majority of consumers perceive PayPal and Google Checkout (from previous research that someone else did) as the additional protection. I don't know what are the PayPal's procedures if you bike and you don't get it all but what makes people feel safer is the fact that their Credit Card details are not seen by the merchant which might be even selling out of his bedroom. So overall the likelihood of your CC details being hacked are low (unless someone hacks your Paypal password - then you are screwed up:o But do you know what guys. It would be great to see your views how you perceive the 3rd party payment gateways and what gives you most security online. We at Electric Bike Shed.co.uk use Google Checkout mainly because we perceive it as safe and easy method to our customers for checkout and it also offers some extra advantages to the merchants comparing to PayPal. PayPal on the other hand is more known and more users have PayPal accounts. Will be great to hear your views.
  16. Totally agree with you Eddie. That is one of my assumptions and those who buy blind online also exist but the majority of consumers is like you. Firstly tries to investigate if the product is any good. Then... if the retailer is any good or at least legitimate I got my hypothesis but I really need to see and test it how it goes. Many thanks for your contribution
  17. Guys, thank you to all of you who completed the survey. The response rate is peety good however still need some more responses. I really encourage those who still haven't completed one to do so. You can do it here Many thanks Andy
  18. great job Old Timer, it is interesting what say. I personally prefer to run on the higher cadence but I know many other don't. I read that Yamaha crank drive works quite well on the lower cadence. Can I ask you what happened when you fitted 12 magnets? Why it didn't work too well? It actually should as it should be misleading to the sensor that you actually run on the lower cadence. Anyway it is interesting to see that you did your own piece of research as I think we really can call it this way:)
  19. Hi all, Sorry for not posting for a while but I've been so busy (still I am) with doing my dissertation project that is due in less than a month time. As some of you may know from previous posts I work for Electric Bike Shed.co.uk and my project's main objective is to investigate different aspects of consumer behaviour in buying bit more expensive items online i.e ELECTRIC BIKES from a small businesses just like us. I know many of you probably buys more expensive items online and some probably bought electric bike on the net. I really need your help so could you please complete a quick SURVEY ONLINE for me PLEASE:o I checked average time takes roughly 1 minute 30secs. It's only 13 simple questions. PLEASE HELP ME OUT and spend your few secs by completing this questionnaire here Complete Online Survey HERE I would also like to apologise all who may feel upset for me posting here. I know that Electric Bicycles section is most frequently visited by you so I had to post here. Soon I've got 100 of your responses I'm done Thanks guys Andy;) BTW Those who are interested to see the report from results please send me PM
  20. i like that patent of the crumpbuster, looks really smart
  21. well yes, these days most of frames in China or Taiwan but they really got better in it and the quality is a lot better
  22. well yes the 906 might do for you, you gotta ask David when its due in the UK
  23. you are right Old Timer, if you would charge the battery indoor and keep it warm it would definitely do 25-30 miles. I also love my bike and i think its super comfortable, that means this Chinese made frames can't be that bad as many people here says:D
  24. I'm afraid Eddio Wispers battery will be also affected by low temperatures. And for 10amps battery the 20 miles in cold sounds about right.
