  1. These are the specs from Cube's website:- FRAMEHPA, High Performance Aluminium FORKSR Suntour XCM ATB Coil, 100mm REAR DERAILLEURShimano Deore, 11-36T, 1x9 BRAKE SYSTEMShimano BR-MT200 CRANKSETFSA CK-602, 38T COLOURblue´n´orange BATTERYPowerPack 500 DRIVE UNITBosch Drive Unit Performance GEN3 (65Nm) DISPLAYPurion CHARGER2A WEIGHT22,1 kg ART. NO333111 PRICE1899 GBP I don't know if it's an update for 2020 but certainly more powerful than the 2018 model being only 10nm of torque lower than the cx motor. Actually 65nm of torque, approximately 30% more than my 2018 model. But obviously, this comes at a cost of battery life if you use it.
  2. Yeah, I looked at those recently but it's not £500 for a 500wh battery, it's £549 to extend your 300wh battery you get by 208 Watt Hour Range Extender to give you 500wh in total!!! Whereas if you bought a Giant, you can get a 500wh battery, a motor system with 80nm of torque and buy another 500wh battery to give you a kilowatt? Not sure if that's entirely correct, but the Giant wouldn't look as "stealth" as an Orbea I guess... sorry, gone through google shopping and all shops that have them are priced at £549, are you on cyclescheme or cycle to work, If you're free to buy a new bike you could buy it as an accessory and benefit from the tax savings on it?
  3. I love the idea of hybrid with mtb tyres and a huge battery. The mudguards do look a little short so maybe a mudflap to stop your feet getting soaked when you turn corners when out in the wet/rain etc. 700 wh battery sounds awesome! Could I get another to extend range, not sure if I'd need it but how much would it cost, what would the dimensions be and what is the weight? Lots of questions sorry but just weighing up options, cheers, Phil.
  4. Hi Huggins, I wouldn't class myself as fit. I went up Mam Tor in Derbyshire out the back of Edale a few weeks ago on an active line plus 50nm torque on a Cube Acid Hybrid One with more road worthy tyres on it. I went up fine and weigh approx 120kg. They're certainly capable of climbing and the motor didn't burn up/complain etc. The new 2020 motors offer 60nm of torque as opposed to the 50 mine has and i believe a better disconnect once you're pedalling over the 15.5mph assist limit so you don't feel as much "drag". Regards, Phil.
  5. I've got the big bens in the 2" variant and love them for touring round the peak district and done around 1000+ trouble free(read puncture free) miles on them. Like the quieter ride too, no buzz as you cycle, can't see the .1" making a difference, i put hans dampfs? on them at 2.35" over the 2.25 stock tyres for extra grip in winter and had no issues stemming from that like tire squirm. Plus if you go for the 2" version, you're probably more likely to be able to find mudguards that'll fit closer to protect from winter road spray. I have SKS Bluemells? and they protect against all but the wettest days
  6. Putting this up for sale as it's set up as a tourer/road bike and I mainly cycle off road now. Collection only please.
  7. I have a cube acid hybrid one, with mountain bike tyres, a 500wh battery and weigh about the same, and on turbo, on a 27 mile trip with 2,300 ft of elevation gain get back home with around 1-2 bars left on the battery. You'd just need to find one on a deal/second hand maybe, but it should give you an idea of what to expect. Good luck on finding your ideal bike, Phil.
  8. Just to check the obvious, is the clutch on that reduces chain slap over rough ground? This can be known to make it harder to pedal in certain circumstances like when you change to a bigger cog and the derailleur swings forward.
  9. Hi Gringo, thanks for the answers and pictures, the local bike store had big bens, but i wanted mudguards for wet weather and the max they sell are 65mm wide full cover. I think the Bens are 2.15" so 54/5mm. They said it was good to give a cm clearance for gravel etc. My sks mudguards should be here next week...
  10. Thanks Gringo, I'll have a look at the big apples
  11. Hi, not sure if this is the right part of the forum, but, was looking to get some roady type tyres for my Cube, and wondered if the Schwalbe Marathon Plus 35c would fit this bike, replacing the mountain bike tyres it came with. Cheers, Phil.
  12. Hi Bob, have you found a limit to how far the battery will get you at 400wh? I've been considering a 400wh version bike i found for a reasonable price. Like you will probably look to put road tyres on eventually. Thanks in advance, Phil.
  13. Hi Doogle, i've been looking at one of these and wondered how you were getting on with it? Do you have the 400w or 500w version and what kind of length rides have you been getting out of it? I know there are lots of variables, was looking at Halford crossfire but they seem to have lots of issues and have seen one of these in the 400 version for a reasonable price...
