  1. My friend is strapped into the pedals and has difficulty walking the due to the polio but the cycling has helped a lot with leg strength, the throttle workes on the steep hills and road crossing on his trike also he doesn't have too peddle backwards to change gear he hasn't complained of the bike flexing but I will ask him the next time we are out he bought the trike in June and wouldn't be able to do 20mile rids without it
  2. Yes it has three gears it is a front hub motor the three speed internal gears is in the middle it has two chain's and a it has a throttle for the steep sections on the ride the gearing is all he needs and you can change gear will stationery
  3. He got the road version it seams well built and I think he payed under £ 2000 for it he also has tunal vision and now we can escort him from his house he also has a folding three wheeler and a 4 wheeler that have been relegated to the shed as the electric alowes him to go longer distances we go to the Chester green way and the Wirral way
  4. I go out with a friend he is 82 and has had polio all his life and he has bought a jarvik trike went up to York to try it and he loved it, I will be out with him tomorrow we do 20 miles of cycle track it is stable he just has to take it easy on the bends
  5. Thanks for the advice Neath I will unglue the disk of the chain ring and turn it over cheers Andy
  6. I have laced a Q100c into a 700c wheel and I have a KT-LCD 5 display the bike has a Hollowtech crank I glued the pas senser12 magnet disk onto the inner chain ring and the placed the sensor on the down tube and it works fine if I peddle backwards, before I perches a king meter pas sensor is there something I am missing I have played round with the P & C settings and turned the sensor round but it still doesn’t work when peddling forwards, I am wondering if I cut the cable and revers the wiring would that work
  7. PayPal has given me a full refund as I don't think they had any more luck than me dealings with BMS battery , it is a good job I didn't drop the case with PayPal as they were insisting I did before the would send me another motor, I have know ordered a motor from the bike shed in Lincolnshire
  8. Thank for the reply Harry I have been looking at other suppliers and have escalated the dispute as BMS where corresponding out side of paypall I have heard nothing more so it looks like it may be a some time before I re order another motor
  9. thank you for the reply vfr400 we will talk to paypal as BMSB are insisting on use dropping the case before they will send a new motor. we did say we would post on the motor if they pay the postage.
  10. thanks for the reply vfr400 i have put a dispute in and finally got a reply asking me to close down the dispute before they would send out a motor. They also asked if they had another buyer in the UK would i send the motor. I agreed to do that if they pay the postage, i have just had a reply saying that the boss won't send out the motor until i close the dispute, as i won't do this as it is my only safeguard i have as it was only after we opened a dispute we got a reply, so we are at an impasse at the moment.
  11. I still have had no response from BMS about sending the 328 rpm Q100cst motor instead of the 201rpm that I ordered I take it this is there usual response when they get it wrong is to blank you, looks like I will have to look for an alternative motor from another supplier
  12. thank you for the reply the two battery i have at the moment are 36v German made i had them made for my other two conversions, the 1st one was for a yose kit i put on a trek fx, the 2nd was for a tsdz2 motor, that i tried on the James but couldn't get the chain line right with the back derailleur i and put it on a fixe frame i married it to a nexus 8 speed hub for gearing, i did not think about battery voltage but i liked the size of the motor and you have got me thinking about making a softback 48v battery to put in the saddlebag i have, i have been looking at spot welders for a will, the k-tek one looks interesting unless you have one you would recommend that is better , also could you tell me the number of battery s i would need for a 48v battery pack. thanks once more for the reply i did use you and other on this forum when building the yose conversion and you were very helpful then cheers from hilly north wales ( i have emailed them at bms and i am waiting for a reply, i paid with paypal and i did specified 201 motor) Andy
  13. I ordered a Q100cst from BMS. I requested the 201rpm motor but they have sent the 328rmp motor I am lacing it into a Mavic Open Elite Rim to use on a James quest road bike I have, the question I would like to ask is do I use the motor they have sent.
  14. Hello Pc2017 it was me yose sent another controller and the throttle wasent working properly I have know put the 22amp one on C5 is set at 6 and it works good I am seeing 580W going up the hills now all I need know is the rain to stop
  15. Hello I have been having fun in trying to get the hub to work since I last posted thanks for the setting information Nealth, my correspondence with YOSE have gone like this they asked for photos of the PAS on the bike then sent a new PAS which unfortunately didn’t solve the problem, they then asked me to put C1 on 6, I did this but it made no difference, I then said I thought it was the female connector to the PAS unit they asked for more photos and they send me another controller to test it arrived today, I have just put the new controller on and now the throttle doesn’t work and an error message of 01 comes up also the assist settings does not work, I reverted to the old controller and the throttle works but not the assist settings, if anybody has got any ideas let me know.
  16. PC2017 Thanks for the information it gives me plenty to think about but at the moment getting the one I am setting up is giving me enough problems the new pas sensor has not made the difference I hoped it would, the assistance setting wattage are staying at 0 ore 9 and I am having to use the throttle to get me up the hills so before I start cutting plugs off would some kind sole tell me the P & C settings they have their display set at.
  17. PC2017 I noted your comment about the a 350w front hub being more fun, the idea of a front hub on my full suspension bike has got some appeal as I could strap the cables in a front bag on the bars and just have the throttle and buttons on the bars and the screen controller & cables in the bag, all I need is which hub to get then I will attempt to build a wheel using a tubules rim & Tyre so I can run lower presser of road, some of the green lanes here in north wales that I used to go on with my off-road motorbike aren’t green ore lanes lol, any advice on which hub to try and get would be welcome, by the way the new pas sensor has arrived I am just about to go and fit it.
  18. PC2017 YOSE are sending a new pas sensor so i will wait to try that before cutting any plugs of, but i am going to order the controller and will go with your recommendation of the KT-D12L pas sensor as it is good for a hollowtech crank, i just haven't got round to it yet work and playing in kayaks got in the way. cheers for the information and to the others people on this thread that have contributed to my e bike learning as limited as it is.
  19. This is the controller I am thinking of ordering I know it is 22amp but in another thread I read, it was Nealh I think he side you could reduce the amps from the lcd 3, this is the battery I went with (enerpower-hailong-pro-36v-frame-li-ion-battery-1750ah-diy-ga-charger-4a) as I wanted to try and get a battery that would last & and I could also use on my full suspension bike for a bit of green lane riding, but before I convert that I will have to decide on hub or mid drive that’s why I thought I would go hub drive on my tourer first to see what I thought of E-bike conversions and if I hadn’t had my problem with plugging in the pas I would have probable been very impressed. any thought before i order will be welcome. These are the links: KT 36V/48V 500W 22A 9mosfet sine wave controller KT V12L PAS with Julei 3Pins Waterproof Connector KT-V12L Dual Hall Sensor Easy Assembling 12PAS 80cm length
  20. PC2017 Thanks for the offer but I think I will go with VFR400 suggestion and cut the plug off and solder the wires and use a bit of heat shrink round them. I have been in correspondence with YOSE they asked for a picture and have passed it on to their engineer’s we shall see what transpires. I am going to purchase a 17amp controller and a pass sensor to have as spares, once again thanks for your & VFR400 help it is all a learning experience
  21. Thanks for the input PC2017 you were spot on I have bent a pin on the connector one of the holes in the male plug looks to be obstructed and when I pushed the plug together I bent the pin, ore that’s my excuse anyway, it looks like I will be using the throttle for a bit. Also thanks vfr400 for your input also, I have e mailed yose to see if I can get a replacement, but if not and I have to cut the connection off what type of three pin connector do I need to solder in its place.
