Hi, and need to adjust BBSO1B
The "controller" is within the BBS01B itself, not the display unit. You use the cable to connect to the BBS01 (motor) and the display is then disconnected. I had a few issues similar to what you describe with the pre-set weak settings. Using the software and cable, I experimented for a few weeks and settled on 5 power settings giving 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100% current, with all five giving 100% speed (which is limited to 16mph). Keep Current is set to 80%. Since September, I have done 1,700 miles on my e-bike and am very satisfied with these settings to suit my personal requirements (we also have lots of hills). I also installed a Lekkie Blingring (46T) and Lekkie offset cranks. An extra investment, but very worthwhile. So far, not a single chain derailment. Hope of help.

Bafang 850C display (DPC-14) question
I set 2, 4, 6 & 8 to 0% on both A and speed. 1, 3, 5, 7 & 9 set as normal. Tested in 9-mode. Changed to 5-mode and only level 5 worked. Then, set 1, 3, 5 & 7 to 0%, 2, 4, 6, 8 & 9 to normal, tested in 9-mode again, then into 5-mode and all worked. So, I am quite convinced that this is the case for the 850C (although I know is not for some other models). As you say, rather strange.

Bafang 850C display (DPC-14) question
Answering my own question, following some experimenting – for the DPC-14 / 850C used in 5-level mode, not 9-level mode – 1=2; 2=4; 3=6; 4=8 and of course 5=9. Yep, I was surprised!

Bafang 850C display (DPC-14) question
Hi, I am a newbie to pedelecs, having just converted a Giant Roam using a Bafang BBS01B. My display is the 850C. So far, so good - but I have a question relating to the PAS settings in so far as I am preferring to have 5 levels in use, rather than 9m levels: The Bafang PDC-14 manual states that using 5 level: 1=1; 2=3; 3=5; 4=7 and of course 5=9. But, the Stefan Penov Bafang Control Tool (v2.2b) suggests in the "Infos" section that: 1=2; 2=4; 3=6; 4=8 and of course 5=9 for the DPC-14 / 850C. So, which one is actually correct please. Thank you, Ian

BBS01 grease
I am in Surrey, not too far...... As a newbie with a Bafang BBS01B on a Giant Roam hybrid bike, I would be interested in more info as to exactly where (and how) you grease? Already knocking 150 miles and only fitted a week ago, so 1,200 miles will soon be achieved!
